Little Reader Curricula on your iPad or iPhone - now possible with iAccess!

If you open your iTunes App store, it should list out all of your app updates. We released an app update for Little Reader Touch yesterday which should be available for you to download now. This new app build fixes the issue with the pointer problem and many other changes caused by the new iOS6 Apply released.

I have not been in the site for a while, so forgive me if this questions has been answer somewhere else. I just couldn't find it. Is the Chinese curriculum available for iAcces now? If not, when is it expected to be available?

We're almost ready to release the Chinese curriculum for Little Reader Touch -- there are just a few things that we're tidying up, but the course downloads should be available anytime soon (within a few days to a week). We'll definitely post an announcement once it's up, or you can check the app's Download Lessons screen instead.

Oh I'm so excited for the Chinese version as well! My hubby believes that if our little man is going to learn a second language it should be Chinese, we already have it for LR, but my computer is down and out. Besides that my LO responds much better to the iPad

I love the English and Chinese curricula on iPad with iAccess as my son has less distraction without a keyboard. Wondering when will little math be available on iPad? I have stopped the math programme as he couldn't concentrate with using the notebook since he rather play with the keyboard. Thanks!

@odd78ball: We do plan to develop a Little Math (and Little Musician) app, but unfortunately that won't be available any time soon. In the meantime, since you already have Little Math in your PC, you can use a remote-access app like Splashtop Remote so you can "use" Little Math from your iPad. @Neptune: There are certain features in Little Reader (PC) that are not yet available in Little Reader Touch. Basically the app lets you download and play Little Reader courses, provided you've enabled iAccess already.

Here's a list of what you can't do in Little Reader Touch:

1. Download or play customized lessons (i.e., lessons you created or lessons you downloaded from the BrillKids Downloads Library)

2. Full lesson customization like creating your own categories, words, or adding in your own media files

3. Access to the built-in media tools in Little Reader (PC) such as the Picture Editor and Easy Voice Recorder

4. Access to the built-in Progress Diary in Little Reader (PC)

If you are a Mac user and you don't want to use Little Reader (PC) through Boot Camp, Parallels or other similar workarounds, then you may simply use Little Reader Touch to play your courses. Do note that you still need to buy Little Reader (the Basic download-only version will do), and iAccess, as those two are required for unlocking the full semesters or curriculum in the app. For more details, see: http://support.brillkids.com/entries/21268593-How-to-enable-iAccess-for-Little-Reader-Touch

I'm confused. I had downloaded the Little Reader trial and completed the lessons there (using VMWare on a Mac). Just received iPad so I downloaded the content there, but the first lesson of the non-trial English (US) curriculum on the iPad is different from the trial English (US) curriculum on the PC. The trial had pattern phonics and games starting from Day 1. The iPad version does not. The vocabulary list is also slightly different. Is this correct, or what should I do to fix the situation? I was under the impression that the curriculum would be the same on both, but it does not seem to be. Which is better?

Hi Elaida, all course content in the Little Reader Touch app currently follow the previous version of the curriculum. This is why you can't find the pattern phonics and games starting from Day 1 in the app.

Kindly rest assured that we are working on an update for the Little Reader Touch courses (esp. English ones) -- once the updates are ready you can then have the same course content as the one in the PC version.

It wont automatically open from the itunes on my macbook.
google searches for "run ipad aps on macbook" come up with "not possible" responses.


I bought a PC a month ago specifically so I could get LR, LM an LMs. (the work-arounds for running LR on my mac were not too far off the price of a second laptop)
I use my mac for day to day stuff as the pc has windows 8 which drives me crazy and my partner (who despises my mac) has colonised the pc -things will change when the baby arrives

Its not essential, but I imagine it would be super handy to be able to run lessons from either laptop depending on what was at hand

My niece (kiwimums little reader) is pretty handy with a touchscreen so i definitely see an iPad joining the family eventually.
