FINAL UPDATE!! (June 9th)

Sorry everyone, but we've decided to take a few more days to test the system to make sure everything works well.  We'll be launching the new systems over this weekend (June 12th/13th), so stay tuned for our email announcement.  For those who want a better idea of the deadline, you should assume the last day to be midnight Friday 12th (whichever time zone).

Dear all,

Many of you are probably wondering when the new system is going to be launched.

We had been hoping to launch it around now (end or May or first few days of June), but it's now clear that we will need a bit more time.  Many apologies for this delay!

The main reason for this is the sheer volume of content we are putting together, and all the production and editing work that goes along with it.  I guess we didn't quite realize the enormity of the job when we made the first announcement!  However, the good news is that there's A LOT of content that's getting packed in!

We are also finding ourselves tweaking the system further to improve the user experience as we try to make it as seamless and easy to use as possible.

So when will we be ready?  In order to spur ourselves harder, we are committing ourselves to launching the new system on June 10th (next Wednesday).  We fully intend to have everything ready to launch that day, and are quite confident of doing so. (Fingers crossed!)

Due to the amount of content that still needs to be finalized, we will make available the 6 month curriculum and associated content first, with the remainder of the 12 month curriculum and content following within 1 month at most.  Yes, just the 6 month curriculum is already keeping us very busy!

We really hope you will like what you see!

When you say "6 Month" is that a 6 month long curriculum or is it for 6 month old babies? I am assuming it is a 6 month time frame. Also, will the 12 month curriculum include the same things as the 6 month or will it be completley different?

So if I get the 6 month curriculum then when the 12 month comes out and I want to get that, will it include all the same content as the 6 month plus an additional 6 months worth of content? If so, wouldn't it be better to just "sell" the content in 6 month sets? I guess you could sell a 12 month curriculum, but for those of us that already own the first six month it would be nice to be able to purchase the next six months without having to pay for the first six months that we already have.

I just want to confirm, those of us that own the LR program will receive the 12 month curriculum when it is ready at no cost and any future revisions, but will need to pay for (via money or points) any premium content or downloads.  Right?

Yes, the first 6 months of the 12 month curriculum is the same as what you get when you buy a 6 month course.  If you purchase 6 months, you will be given an option to upgrade to the 12 month course (upgrade plans to be announced).

Right, though no one said anything about future upgrades necessarily being free. I'm sure some upgrades at least will be free, just like this current upgrade to 1.5 with many new features are free for existing users, but in the future if we're rolling out major features, then that may or may not be the case (nothing is decided yet).

I am soooo excited to see the changes; in my excitement I had forgotten how much everyone must be working to benefit our little ones.  Thank you.  Thank you very very much for enriching our lives, our children's lives, and our relationships with our children.

I still can't wait till next Wednesday, but hopefully the delay will allow the people at brillbaby to take a deep breath and enjoy their own family.

In the meantime, thanks for the few extra days of free downloads.

Hi KL great job ...... just a quick qns or 2 ...

1) When on the 10th?? As in Asia midnight or Europe midnight? Its nearly 24 hours apart ...

2) With the upgrade would we loss previously installed LR categories or those we created?? As in uninstall your old version and then install new version followed by importaing process all over again?? As such we have to export he files we want to keep first. Would it be a forced upgrade or we can still use LR until we have exported the LR files first before choosing to upgrade some 1 or 2 weeks later??

Thx .... i worry the above and have to keep exporting each time close to the launch date in case its a forced upgrade and it would wipe out all my previous efforts .... but to export all the files can take several hours on end too ..... and doing it each time before the supposing upgrades is quite ........ well you get what i mean ...

Just assume deadline of midnight of 9th, anywhere in the world.

You will be able to keep your old content, without having to export/import.  No forced upgrades. You can stick with your current 118 build as long as you like.
