Title: EK in LR?
Post by: Skylark on September 13, 2009, 10:28:36 PM
I am preparing EK sets for my daughter.. Is ther a way to incorporate it in LR? Like having a picture - name - fact 1 - fact 2 - fact 3, etc.    That I can slowly add to and build on? And then chose from?

Please advice! Will really appreciate any tips!

Hi Skylark,

I haven't teach any EK yet, but I have got some idea of how to do it in LR through some existing LR files (use search function in download section):
"mammals 1" from Nbailey
"Butterflies and Moths Encyclopedic Knowledge1" from heyblue41
"snake facts" from patreiche

You need to have a Little Reader Program to start with, and then you can check the "help" section on this forum

Thank you, I considereddoing it like this... I was just wondering if there any way to have written sentenses as well, not just audio...

We'll be taking such requirements into account when we finalize v2. One feature that will probably help is having a 'notes' feature which expands on the subtitles feature, and is displayed alongside pictures.
Specific picture audios will also be linked to specific pictures too.

When you say subtitles do you mean like I could have my sentence written out under the picture while the audio is playing.  Ie in my reptiles ek category it would show the red eared slider picture, play the fact about it once being the most popular pet in the world, and have that sentece written out?  would we be able to include more than one subtitle per picture?  as in would it be tied to the pronunciation?

Yes, I would imagine the notes will appear at the bottom alongside the pictures/video, and yes, you should be able to include more than one 'notes' per word, perhaps even per picture. Will have to think about that a bit more.

There will be an ability to link picture audio to specific pictures, for example, so we can probably do the same with the notes, and have multiple PA/notes per pic.

If any of you have more ideas or requests, please let us know!
