Hi!  I am a mama of 2 beautiful boys, DS1 is 3.5 and has a rare genetic condition and faces some special challenges.  DS2 is about to turn 2  smile.  The last 2 years have been a crazy time of trying to get a grip on my older child's condition, but we are getting the basics covered now so  I feel like I can come up for air now!

I am really excited about starting with some early education for both of them.  But... is it too late for LR, LM & LM?  Neither of my boys know how to read, DS1 had moderate autism and would not even look at a book nevertheless a word flash card.  This has improved greatly thanks to alternative therapies and supplements and he now LOVES books!  I am so happy and so excited to start him reading.  I am a high school teacher by training but I became quickly disenchanted with mainstream education and have never worked conventionally as a teacher.  Really excited instead to teach my boys.  But I don't know where to start!  All ideas and advice appreciated  smile

In any case, hi and thank you for having me!  Always interested in meeting early educators who live in NZ, esp the south island.    yes

Welcome along, Yay another Kiwi on here, thats great!

Im a mum of two girls. I started my oldest (now 3.5yr) with YBCR when she was 3 months old and then found Brillkids and started using Little Reader just before she turned one and now she is reading books at about a 6 yr old level. So early learning does work and is worth giving it a go for your boys. My sister lives in the south island on the west coast and is doing the same with her 14 month old boy. Where in the south are you?

I suggest downloading the trail of Little Reader and see if you can fit it into your daily routines and see what your boys think of the 14 day trail and if they like it then decide to buy it after that or not.

There is heaps of wonderful thread on here and also on the early learning closed facebook page that is also a great place to research and get some ideas.  its never too late to start so give it a go!
