Giving a child an early start on the alphabet will help them to get an early start on reading. Reading is the foundation of knowledge and further education. If you would like to really give your child a boost then you should find a way to make learning their ABCs fun. The best way to do so is to find some great games that are instructional and enjoyable. Described below are some great games that will help your child learn their ABCs.

1. ABC Bingo. Give the child or each child a bingo card with individual letters in each square. Then call out random letters and have the children put something over the letters. The child to get the first bingo wins some sort of prize. Eventually you can get one of the children to call out the numbers and you can play the bingo game. Anything that gets you to play along side the children will give them a sense of control. Most little kids are looking for some sort of control over their lives. Most or all of their decisions are made for them by adults. When you play with your children you reverse your typical roles. You will find that your children will be much more excited when they have this type of control.

2. ABC Basketball. If your child likes basketball or sports you should play ABC basketball. Yell a name of an animal or object that your child knows. They have to then say the letter that begins the animal's name so that they can take a shot. Keep the game fast paced by playing some music with a fast beat.

3. ABC Writing Contest. Get a stop watch and ask your child to write all the letters in the alphabet in one or two minutes. If they can accomplish this task give them a special treat. Then allow the child to time you as you try to write the letters.

3. ABC Miming. This game is a little more difficult than the others and might require slightly older children. With a group of kids, call out random letters. Each child tries to mime the letter with their hands or body. This one tends to get the kids laughing pretty hard.

4. ABC Bean Bag Toss. Write all the letters of the alphabet on small sheets of paper. Scatter the paper randomly around a room. Call out letters and ask your child to try to throw a bean bag on the letter you have called out. Then switch places and have your child call out the letters while you throw the bags.

These are just a few of many different games that you can play with your kids. You should brainstorm and come up with games that will be the best for your child. Include your child in the brainstorming process-you will be surprised to find how great their ideas are for learning games. Experiment and find that games that seem to excite your children the most. If there is a game your child actually asks you to play that is the one to emphasize.

Thank you so much for providing this games list. I was looking for same.
My daughter is 3 years old and I wanted to start learning alphabets to her. I think games are the best way to teach kids. I will definitely make use of this games to making my child learn.
I am working as a writer. Now a days I am getting free time as there is no job stress. I will use this time for my daughter.
