Hi all, my boy is 4 years old and we are planning to get him to the nearby school. I have a friend who is a preschool teacher in child ventures, one of the early learning centers in Richmond Hill. Last day, we met her at the shop and we had a talk on this. She advised me to get my boy to her preschool as these ages are crucial in brain development. Unlike from elementary schools, children get chances to improve their talents. I don’t know much about such preschooling. How do they actually differ from normal schooling? What skills of the kids are focused on developing in preschool learning? Hope to get replies. Thanks.

Choosing the right preschool for your little one is the most important decision in your child's life. Various factors should be carefully evaluated so as to make a decision that proves to be beneficial for your child.

Trustworthiness:
Compile a list of schools near you and choose the best suitable brand for your child. Survey well in advance about the school, the facilities available etc. that will contribute in development of your little one. Therefore, check out preschools that are well established and have a good reputation in the city.

Distance from home:
Keeping in view the travel time, pollution on the roads, safety and stress on the child, the playschool should be near to your home. Therefore, always check the distance of the playschool from your home.

Duration and Timing of the School:
Preschools are generally for a half day or a few hours. Opt for a school with least school hours as a short amount of time works best for the preschooler.

Background of the Management:

Management and the staff members are the backbone of any institute. So you should look for a playschool lead by a team of well-educated, experienced professionals with the right aptitude and love for children as they have the experience of handling a variety of children.

Outdoor space:
Children love to play and enjoy. Besides this, games and activities help in the physical development of the children. Therefore, being a parent you must ensure that the playschool you are considering must have a big, well spacious outdoor ground or an area with safe equipment's for the child to have lots of fun. The preschool must also have lots of indoor games and activities to help the child learn through puzzles, blocks etc.

Loving, caring and enthusiastic teachers:
A school is like the second home of a child and teachers are the care takers. Therefore, the teachers should not only be educated and knowledgeable, but also have loving, caring and motherly feelings. These qualities attract the children and it becomes easy for both the teacher and child to bond with each other.

Facilities and Activities:
Besides the big outdoor area and activities, other facilities such as helpers to take care of the child, medical facilities and security etc. should also be considered. Also find out about the celebrations at preschools including the cultural functions, sports days etc.

Comfortable:
The most significant point while selecting a play school for your child is that you, as a parent and your little one must be happy and comfortable with the environment of the school. For this, just trust your instincts and ask yourself "Would I feel comfortable leaving my child here or would I be happy here if I were a child?" And I am sure; you will get your answer!

Interact with alumni parents:

Talk with the parents who have already enrolled their child on their overall satisfaction with the preschool. Also ask them what their likes are and dislikes about the school? Are their children happy and learning their? etc.

HI,
1) The first benefit of early childhood education is that you will finish your education in the earlier age.  smile
2) The child can develop more interest in studies than other students.
3) If the school is nearer to your home, you can save the time of traveling.  Cool

Dear Marrybrown,

All those computer games you mentioned can be or may not be OK. Depends on the content of the game.

Children at a young age should be supervised when playing with any games.

I think, it's better to educate your children at home  when they are at such a young age. I've teached my daughter to read when she was 4 years old. She wouldn't get the same amount of attention in school.
I'm glad that I've chosen to work from home  at ewriting, so I have more time to spend with my kid.

When I did early learning with my son 9 years ago, I thought he would be a reader, but he is not a book lover. He can read very well, but he doesn't read for fun. He's very good at math, and I didn't focus on maths. I don't have any regrets. I am having a second vaby, and I am going to teach reading again. I am going to do a few things differently. I won't test my baby or let anyone test her.

Is there an earliest age at which children should begin their education? In recent years, research has been done globally on the impacts of early childhood education and development. Many researchers are finding through their studies that investing in education at an early age can yield many long-term benefits....

I personaly stand for in-home tutors. Online tutoring has opened the doors to a world of new possibilities when it comes to finding good tutors to access from the comfort of your own home - or from anywhere with a wifi connection! Children feel  safe and relax in such conditions and the process of learning is more effective. Exceptional online tutoring platforms  allow parents to select their own tutor and schedule the sessions for whenever they please. We live in Sydney and there is a really nice tutorial platform that helps with In-home maths tutors in Sydney area on https://www.ezymathtutoring.com.au/contact/sydney/ which I often use for me.
