I am teaching my kids french and sign language. I was hoping that some of you had some ideas of sets of words that you want in french with pictures and audio. I have a fernch exchange student who is working on making these up with me so the words are accurate to French from Paris. Anyway if you could send any ideas my way I will try to get those made up ASAP I really need 2000 more points so I will be fast about it too laugh  :tongue2:

Haha, what a great idea Princessclem!

I personally would love to see more French playlists and categories!  I think a lot of families stand to benefit from having them, and if it's ideas you need for your new categories, I'll be happy to oblige!

 - Numbers in French
 - Everyday phrases in French (especially those used in everyday conversation!)
 - Parts of the Body in French

I hope that helps! smile I look forward to seeing your downloads soon!  Good luck, and let us know if you need help with anything!  happy

I would love to see many more French categories. My daughter and I are having an amazing time learning French together, primarily by listening to French songs and watching the TweedleWink Languages DVD. She knows so much more than me, which my husband thinks is great......  laugh  and so do I actually.

We would really love to see:

Wild animals

Well known nursery rhymes (For example, Baa baa black sheep and Hey diddle diddle. Actual singing is not required of course.)

Lots of daily conversation. I am sure that the following would be extremely popular:
* Going to the supermarket and discussing the types and quantities of fruits, vegetables and staple grocery items (milk, eggs, etc) on the shopping list.
* Cleaning the house and discussing the names of rooms and what needs dusting.
* Picking up and washing different items of clothes, their colours and owners.
* A child's bedtime routine, including putting away toys (dolls, cars, blocks, etc), cleaning teeth, having a bath and reading a storybook.
* Going to the beach.
* Going to the doctor.

Any new French category will be greatly appreciated. Thank you,

Mum.

Hi Mum,

Brenda here.  My baby loves French too.  I'm also on the look out for some conversation CDs for my baby but can't find one good one in the market. You have very good list on the French daily conversation.  My other suggestion you could try is the "Teach your baby French" from Penton.  You would love this.

Hi Princessclem,
Are you able to work out something with the pronunciation too?

Brenda

I'd love to see some french downloads too!!  I haven't tried making any downloads myself yet... but once I figure it all out, I can also make some, as I speak French as well.  categories to work on?

-colors, numbers, food, fruits, actions, parts of the body, animals, insects, words that start with a, b, c...etc...beverages, household items - by room? baby items, articles of clothing...
You mentioned you are close - pointswise...what are we trying to reach?  I am new to this!

Thanks for offering to make these downloads by the way - they will definitely come in handy!

princessclem -
oh yes, oh yes!  My own use of French has almost completely gone by the wayside, but I would love to expose my children to the wonderful language! Any downloads you can get to would be most appreciated.  In addition to the suggestions already made, maybe the pronunciations for the alphabet too?

Thank you Brenda. I will definately look into "Teach your baby French".

We have just started listening to the "Hop, Skip, and Sing French" CD from McGraw Hill. It has many very short lessons, which is great for my little ones and it is a lot of fun. But be warned, because of all the actions and dancing it is not the best CD for car trips.  laugh

Have fun,
Mum.

If thought I would bring this topic 'back to life'. I've just discovered how to record sounds and add them to Power Point (did not know it was so easy) so I will soon add my voice to the French foods slide I created recently, and will probably create some more sideshows, with sound. Any suggestions?
