how do you upload a presentation?

Hi

I feel very silly - having been here for a while and I have finally got around to making a presentation - half the trouble was trying to think of something that would be useful - which hadnt already been done!

Anyway I didnt know what to make it in - so used Power point - but I couldnt make my microphone work and Id wasnt sure if it should have gone somewhere else or if it is ok to put in power point.

I wanted to do some nursery rhymes but am getting so frustrated at being so computer illiterate! Ive been through the tutorials and tried to do what is advised but still uncertain of what I am doing. Is there an 'idiots' guide somewhere?

I dont want to waste people's time or create stuff that is no use?

You can make the power point presentations and upload them to the download section of the forum here and people can use them if they have Little Reader Lite or Home. They don't HAVE to have sound, it is just recommended that they do. Once you have them complete you just click on "Add a Download" at the top under where it says your name and your points total. This will bring you to a screen where you will enter information about the file. You will choose Power Point slide show, then the language and the category it will go in, then enter a description and then browse to the file and click "Add Download". It will then tell you it is uploaded and waiting for approval. You can check for the approval status by clicking on "MY files" at the top and it will tell you when they have been approved, how many people have viewed them and downloaded them.

Here are some step-by-step instructions on how to upload a file to the forum File Downloads area:

1. Go to the Forums.

2. Click on Add a Download in your profile box (upper left hand corner of the forum page).

3. Fill in the download form.
    •  File Type – Specify if it is a Little Reader file, a PowerPoint Slideshow, a Flash Card Printout, or Infant Stimulation Flash Cards.
    •  Language – Choose what language your file should be in, whether English or Foreign Language.
    •  Category – Choose up to three relevant categories for your file. Simply select them from the list.
    •  Upload File – Click Upload… and find the file on your computer and press Open.

6. When you are done, click the Add Download button.

Please understand that you do not immediately receive your points after uploading - an administrator or a moderator has to check your file upload, and once approved, the system will credit you with the points.

Fantastic - cracked it - and Ive finally managed to get the microphone to work - thank you for all your help - hopefully my efforts will get better !!

Who said this was just for teaching children haha!
