How to Export a File in Little Reader

1. Click on the Import/Export button.

2. Under the Export panel, choose the type of file you would like to export; whether categories, words or playlists.

3. Below, find and click on the file that you would like to export (make sure it is highlighted in purple).

4. Click the EXPORT button in the lower right corner.

5. Chose where you would like the file saved on your computer and change the file name.

6. Click Save.

OK i am very confused now How do I download a catagory for everybody to share? I thought that I should do the  export thing but after reading this it doesnt sound right. PLEASE HELP ME!! and How big can the files be to be avail for Little reader?

Hi Princessclem!

If you want to share your categories and playlists with other Little Reader users here in our forum, you have to do 2 things:

1.  Export your category or playlist from your Little Reader. (You may do this by following the steps above)
2.  Upload your file to the BrillKids Forums. (To learn how to do this, click here.)

Hi,
I have just tried to upload my first file to share with other little reader users. I followed the instructions, but when I look at my files (which has the one file waiting for approval), it says that it is 0kbs. Could you please let me know what I might be doing wrong?

That means that for some reason your file didn't attach. It may be too large or you could have had some problem with your connection. Can go to your import/export folder under documents>brillkids>little reader>import/export and let us know the size of the file you tried to upload?

Hi NBailey!

The file limit is 10MB, but it's always best not to skim too near the limit.  Sometimes - when files are just too big, or bigger than 5MB, and if the internet connection fluctuates, the upload is damaged, and it doesn't register.  To ensure that your download goes without a hitch, please take care to minimize the file size as much as you can, and make sure you have a steady internet connection.

My file was originally about 8mb so I reduced it to around 6mb by eliminating some of my POI recordings that went with the pictures. However, I was still unsuccessful in uploading the file.
I ended up just eliminating all of the POI recordings and posting the details on the encyclopedic knowledge forum so that people can record themselves. I hope that was ok. I am not sure if there is a better way.

Thank-you again for all of your help. I have never participated in a forum before, but with a new baby I have become quite passionate about helping him to achieve his full potential. I am so glad I have decided to join in and share experiences with others (even when they may be on the other side of the world!).

Did you try to reduce the pictures like I recommended? That should have helped a lot since you had so many pictures. If you want to try it and do a test-upload, just let us know.

Yes, thanks nhockaday. I did have a look at that post and it was very helpful to find out this information.
However, the picture sizes did not seem to be too big. My overall file went from around 8,100 kbs to about 850 kbs just by eliminating the recordings. The overall file size is now quite small even though I have used several pictures for each animal.

Nhockaday, how did you get your avatar to switch between images? It is really cute. I managed to upload a picture of my son for my avatar, but not sure how to have multiple images.

How can i redim my points to have klagain please .It has been blocked for these last 2 days .When i dounload the new version ,shall i dounload all the files from the begining or they get in it awtomatically.I wish that i could repeat the lesson today.thanks
