Dear All,

I have downloaded some handwriting sheets for both right and left handers.  In my search for writing sheets I haven't found many that I can use with thick black markers, are left hand friendly, and give the child a place to do their own thing on the worksheet too.  This is my priority, if he can draw in his space then he's more inclined to do the rest of it.

The alphabet is at the top of the page, with the letters used in the worksheet, enlarged and underlined to show where they belong.  We do a little alphabetical order, which comes first, what letter is before/after eg. s.  My son has done loads of these sheets and his writing flows.  I am not going to get him to write on his own for a while yet, hoping to lay a good foundation on letter forming.

They are best printed in colour - although not necessary - the colour lines help them to see the colours of the grass, the hills and the sky, the three places that the writing touch.

There are 4 sheets to a download. The first two introduce, letter formation individually and the second, letter formation joined.  The other too are extra's with no pictures or box for drawing, these give the practice needed to get the confidence in writing the particular letters.  So I introduce the individual letters one day, and reinforce it with the extra practice the next.  Then the joining of the same letters the next day and the extra practice the next.  So in a week he does the one download.

The worksheets are designed to be used with a thick marker, so that the print they follow is not seen after they have copied it.

The lesson goes really well if you use your sandpaper letters at the start of the lesson.

I hope you find them to be user friendly.

Please note that the pictures used have all been taken from google search images, usually found under the word in the lesson followed by the word drawing, clipart or outline.

Hi there Indidee,

Yes the downloads are under English Downloads/ Activity sheets.  You will easily see them for downloading, they start with Letters... and then whatever word it is that the worksheet is dealing with.

I have saddly had to change to print as the home schooling curriculum the I am using only allows cursive in the third grade.  It has been so confussing for my little guy...  but they adjust amazingly well.  I hope to add print worksheets, but am really finding it hard to find a font with directions for print!!!  You mentioned you had got some done?  You just download your file like normal, but put it into the Activity Sheets.  I don't know if you get any points for it though  :-( as yet I haven't recieved any.  No matter, if it's helped then that's all that matters...
