Hello BabyJ.
It seems that you've downloaded a Microsoft PowerPoint File - this is why the file you have downloaded is opening in Microsoft PowerPoint.
To give a bit of explanation, here's the difference between the types of downloads available from our forum:
Little Reader HOME BASIC opens, imports and exports only file types that have the .CAT (Categories) and the .PL (Playlists) extension.
If you have Little Reader LITE, then you will not have this function, so you cannot download and import to expand your learning library.A .DOC (Word Document) can only be opened if you have Microsoft Word, and they cannot be imported into Little Reader at all.
A .PPT (PowerPoint file) can only be opened if you have Microsoft PowerPoint, and they cannot be imported into Little Reader either.
1.) Infant Stimulation Cards - These are in .DOC (which can be opened by Mircosoft Word) or .PDF (which can be opened by Adobe Acrobat Reader). Once opened, they need to be printed out to be used. They cannot be imported into Little Reader.
2.) Flash Card Printouts - Again, these are in .DOC (which can be opened by Mircosoft Word) or .PDF (which can be opened by Adobe Acrobat Reader). Once opened, they need to be printed out to be used. They cannot be imported into Little Reader.
3.) PowerPoint Slideshows - These are in .PPT (which can be opened using Microsoft PowerPoint). Once opened, you may show your child the presentation by using it as a standard PowerPoint Slideshow on your computer. They cannot be opened by Little Reader.
4.) Little Reader Library Files - These can only be opened if you have the Little Reader software installed. Once downloaded, they need to be imported into Little Reader, and once you finish importing, you will be able to play them from your computer, or print them out using Little Reader's print function.
We hope this helps make things clearer. Do let us know if there's anything else we can help you with.
Cheers,
Lappy
