Ok, I just kep asking everywhere and nobody has answered me back. If you have done presentations with sound and have been able to uploaded properly, could you please tell me if you had to embedded the files in order it to work once it is uploaded???  confused

Once I uploaded my files and somebody else tries to open it from another computer. The sound file can't be found.

I would really appreciate if someone helps me so I can have here files that actually work. People can download them, but it is not working at it full potential  biggrin

Hi Joha,
I wanted to answer you earlier but today has been verry challenging since my twins have the flu.  You are trying to embed sound in PPT 2007 right?  I want to show you how to look up answers so you can see the diagrams & you can look up other questions in the future.

1. Open your slide show & press F1 on your keyboard, this will bring up the help files
2. type in the search field: embed sound
3. press search
4. I got this article "Embedded and linked sound files in a presentation" open it
5. with the above article open, scroll down to "Increase or decrease the size of the embedded sound" section

This is what it says:
1. Click the embedded sound icon .
2. Under Sound Tools, on the Options tab, in the Sound Options group, increase the maximum sound file size by entering a number in the Max Sound File Size (KB) box. You can increase it to as much as 50 MB or decrease it to as little as 1 KB.

Note:    Changes made to this setting are not retroactive. Any sound files that were linked before you increased the maximum sound file size must be deleted and then reinserted into your presentation if you want them to be embedded. Correspondingly, any sound files that were embedded before you reduced the maximum sound file size must be deleted and then reinserted into your presentation if you want them to be linked.
My guess is that if it is still not working after you increase the file size you will need to delete the sound from your presentation & add it back.

Hope this helps

A couple other things I just thought of that could be the problem:
1. They have to be .wav files to embed, if they aren't .wav files let me know there are programs to convert file types I'm sure I can find a free one for you.
2. Did you increase the max sound file size so that it is big enough?  Let me know if you don't know how to look up file sizes.

I think I just figured it out.  yes For whatever reason when I record the voice it records it as a wam file. In order to have the sound as "contain in presentation" so once people donwloads the file can hear the voice it has to be a wav file. I'm not sure if this is the easiest solution, but was the only one I was able to come up with. Once the file is approved I'll be able to check if works.  rolleyes  (this rollyes is me looking at the sky praying that it works)

I still would like to know how people record their voices so it is a wav file. I had to convert each voice file and it was a pain....
