Yay!  I just downloaded the Simplified Chinese app for my ipad.  The graphics are great (I can actually make them twice the size for the ipad) and I love that you have a game option!  I also love that the words and images are on separate slides - unlike other apps I've looked at.  I'm excited to use this!

Great!  Now that I've used it, I have some suggestions though.  First, I would have it say the word when doing the game.  I'd want it say, for example, "nose" when you hit both the picture and the word.  Right now, you just constantly hear (what I assume is...lol) "right" or "wrong".  Also, I think it would be good to have an actually button to push to switch the slide when doing the flashcards (and maybe, somehow, hide the current back arrow).  Between me trying to slide it forward with my finger and my son wanting to touch the screen (and the back arrow button)..we don't make much forward progress - lol!  It just goes forward and backward, etc.  It might be easier to keep my finger in one spot and hit a button.  Anyway - still one of the best ones've seen/used for what I want in an app for Chinese!  I'm looking forward to the updates!!! 

Is there really a Filipino version? How come I don't see it available for purchase?

That's really great! You can't imagine how difficult it is to find early educational materials in Filipino/Tagalog for my daughter! So far, I have a few books and some Youtube video clips, but that's it. Are you planning to come out with a full DVD program in Filipino too? I hope you are...   :biggrin:

Dear Aangeles, I am excited to inform you that the product is already at the final stage of production. We are expecting the full version to be ready by early Jan 2011. Please take a look at the cover attached. I am sure you find the custumes very familiar and personal.

I do have a suggestion to make if it's not too late in the production process. I hope that the musical rewards at the end of each lesson would consist of traditional children's nursery songs and folk songs in Filipino - e.g. Paru-parong Bukid, Leron Leron Sinta are some examples. My daughter loves listening to children's songs (in any language) and, when she was watching the Chinese DVDs, I think she learned as much from the Chinese songs at the end as from the flashcard lessons themselves - the songs certainly helped to reinforce the words she learned from the flashcards.

I also have the WTL Japanese DVDs and we are working through the first disc and, so far, I haven't seen any Japanese children's songs at the end of the lessons (unlike in the Chinese version) and I must say her attention definitely wanes during the musical reward part in the Japanese DVDs. That's about the only thing I don't like about the Japanese version. Otherwise, it is an excellent product.

Thank you very much for your kind suggestion. The musical reward at the back of each flashcard lesson meant to be a chill out time for children. We were fortunate to be able to obtain the rights of a record company for the Chinese songs. In the event that you have contacts of such companies holding rights to Filipino children songs, please let us know and we are definitely happy to include those songs into the programs.

Regarding the Filipino/Tagalog folk songs and children's songs, most (if not all) are already public domain since they are songs that have been handed down from generation to generation. If ever some of them did have copyright, in all probability, they would have expired by now. However, I am not an expert on this. This website has a good collection of the traditional songs in Filipino/Tagalog: http://tagaloglang.com/filipino-music/  You might try to contact them about including their songs into your program.

What I don't like is , for example, that there are shoes on the picture but they say shoe - singular. I think that isn't correct, or ?
