Title: Little Reader Testimonials Post by: Lappy on October 22, 2008, 02:23:10 AM Hello everyone!
We've just finally finished reading through all of your testimonials in our BrillKids survey, and I believe I speak for all of the members of the BrillKids Team in saying that they are very heartwarming. We cannot put into words how happy we are that we have been able to offer all of you this program which is so close to our hearts, and we are only too pleased to hear many of your inspirational stories about how Little Reader has become a part of your family's learning activity. With this, we would like to announce that we have chosen some testimonials from our survey results (see below), and we would like your permission to use them in our websites. If a testimonial was written by you, PLEASE LET US KNOW. I hope that you may claim your testimonial by letting us know by replying to this thread, or if you would like to claim in private, you may send us a PM with the testimonial number, stating that it is yours. If you claim your testimonial, we will publish it on our Little Reader testimonials page in the BrillKids.com website along with your name and a photo of you (if you wish). WOULD YOU LIKE TO ADD YOUR TESTIMONIAL? If you have been using Little Reader and would like to add your testimonial, please add it by replying to this thread! Again, on behalf of the BrillKids Team, thank you very much for sharing your joy in using Little Reader. Cheers, Lappy ==================================================================== TESTIMONIAL 1 My 2.5 yr old & I have really enjoyed the brillkids program. It is very mommy & toddler friendly :) Oftentimes, my son will make his way to the laptop (which is turned off) and go through the proper steps to get the brillkids program to come up. It's a challenge to actually get him to take a break because he really loves seeing, hearing & saying the words as well as watching the accompanying pictures. Brillkids is a program that we visit daily & it is one of many "games" we partake in. Currently my son is reading Dr. Seus books all by himself -- it's truly amazing to have my son read to me! Not to sound corny but I'm often discretely sheding happy tears because I'm so proud of my kiddo as he reads to me. Thank you for such a powerful product. ==================================================================== TESTIMONIAL 2 by AnuShyamI've been using Little Reader to teach my 2 children for a few months now. Little Reader serves both my kids' differnt needs. The younger one, aged 2, enjoys the Animal Catogories where there is a real picture of the animal accompanied by the sounds they make. He can now recognise words even before the picture comes up! I think that's a big improvement. Whereever he sees the word lion or frog, he's able to voice out the word with the accompanied roar! :) He also loves the nursury rhymes but without the word flash. The words pause break up the flow of the rhymes and this distracts him. My elder one, aged 3.5, enjoys more complex catogories like Flags, Planets and 7 wonders of the world. She shows interest even outside our little reader sessions when we visit the library. She recalls the nice pictures in the 7 wonders and wants to get a book which shows more about them. ==================================================================== TESTIMONIAL 3 by Redheaded1I have truly enjoyed using little reader and getting all my friends with kids excited about it as well. This website and program have made me rethink home schooling my child (for the better) and has really gotten my entire family enthusiastic about early childhood development and education. BRAVO to you! ==================================================================== TESTIMONIAL 4 by heyblue41 (Amanda) My kids love little reader. They can't get enough of "the game". I noticed my son repeating words he heard only one time in russian after we had used Little Reader. Now he knows how to say cat, dog and many other animals in about 5 differnt languages. The only exposure to most of these has been Litle Reader. ==================================================================== TESTIMONIAL 5 My son in the couple of days we have had it downloaded and set up, has pestered me to let him onto the computer. This has the added advantage of his wanting to operate a programme he has shown interest in, together with learning the co ordination of hand and mouse and keyboard. You may have observed I use English spelling, that is because I am an English ex-pat, and want to help my son learn English. This is the first time he has shown interest in any educational software I have tried with him. ==================================================================== TESTIMONIAL 6 by Jake *It helped me and my little grand son a lot,he's saying more words after using little reader.... *at first i used to pay a speech terapist and now i'm repeating this programm everyday and i think that's much better and it saved me money. In my opinion little reader brill kids is faboules,Jake and i really love it and i'm still getting used to it because i'm a 50 year old granny and i think this helped me a lot..... THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ==================================================================== TESTIMONIAL 7 by carpe_diem I have thoroughly enjoyed using Little Reader - I thought I knew a lot about teaching reading to people of all ages - and particularly since a was a follower of Glenn Doman methods 40ish years ago. That said - I have found Little Reader totally inspiring - it has taught ME such a lot (lol) it is very addictive - and encourages the software user to not only make use of the material provided in the program - but to create their own. The kids really love Little Reader - from the beginning, they have wanted to suggest what I should include in their playlists - Joseph 2 1/2 yrs said he wanted to have his rat (stuffed toy) in the 'family' playlist. He told me to take a picture of 'rat' and was delighted to see it next time he was 'doing the words' That is what is so great about the concept of LR - the children have something that they can relate to - their OWN body/family/toys/pets and so on - and there is the facility to add to those to widen their horizons. The fact that people from all over the world - using any language - even dialects can come together, share concerns and experiences, give one another support, and contribute to the whole is absolutely amazing. A sort of Global Togetherness worthy of a Noble Prize for Literary Software Development. ( I DID mean Noble lol) I can honestly say that I don't know of ANY other software that is so versatile/comprehensive/meaningful and enjoyable as Little Reader. ==================================================================== TESTIMONIAL 8 by leana (Leana)I found it to be very pleasent and rewarding experience. My daughter and I both love Little Reader! And whole our family can see that she is learning a lot from it. Although she cannot speak yet, she does act things like "hands up", "point", "kick" etc. which she learnt from LR. Thanx for making such a wonderful program for kids. ==================================================================== TESTIMONIAL 9 by nadia0801 Little Reader has helped me colossally! I was just starting to discover the Glen Doman method and this software takes the reading program to a whole new level. It makes everything more organized and accessible. It also offers the very essential 'customization' option to adjust to each child. I personally like the user-interface. Simple and easy-to-use. With more downloadable content, I'd say it is the BEST program for infant learning today! ==================================================================== TESTIMONIAL 10 My experience with little Reader is great. My daughter has a speech delay, but after using Little Reader for two days, she can now say Mommy. ==================================================================== TESTIMONIAL 11 I have never tested her before today, we tested her with about 10 different word cards – and she got every one right! Thirty years ago I would have been told to put Kay in an institution because she was unteachable… I admit I had never heard of teaching babies to read a year ago and would not have believed she could do this. The sky is the limit for my little girl! ==================================================================== Title: Re: Little Reader Testimonials (Please claim!) Title: Re: Little Reader Testimonials (Please claim!) Post by: Lappy on October 22, 2008, 04:50:24 AM Thank you very much, Amanda! :)
We'll be publishing your testimonial in our BrillKids website! Would you also oblige us by lending us a picture of you with your little one? Just so we can also match your testimonial with your photo! Cheers, Lappy Title: Re: Little Reader Testimonials (Please claim!) Post by: Diana_UA on October 22, 2008, 09:33:17 AM I'd like to express my thanks to the Little Reader creators. You've made my life so much easier! I used to spend a lot of time making cards by hands. Now with Little Reader it is just like fun.
My little daughter loves this great program. Every time I say "Reading time" she grabs my hand and runs to the computer giggling. And when the lesson is over she gets really upset. I have to invent something really exciting to entice her from the computer. lol Thanks to Forum community I've learned a lot about early education and teaching methods. I do believe that all children are geniuses. Thank you for keeping up this confidence. Title: Re: Little Reader Testimonials (Please claim!) Post by: carpe_diem on October 22, 2008, 03:06:50 PM Hi !

Post by: Agnesdecham on October 22, 2008, 03:33:40 PM I would like to show my gratitude to the team who created Little Reader. It's such a BRILLIANT IDEA and INVENTION which help the parents to educate the child in a fun and creative way. My parents are not staying with me but when I used Little Reader showing my girl the photos and the voice of her grandpa and grandma, she will keep on smilling and laughing and it's really heart warming since the Little Reader reminding her about her grandparents and the happy time that she spend with them. Little Reader team are very supportive solving my problems and a big applaud for you all! I must admit that Little Reader really did an excellent job and you all deserve my millions thanks!! ;)

I am so happy that I found your website and started using Little Reader with my 2 boys. I have had the opportunity to compare your product with another similar one (claiming similar results), and I have proven that yours is better. Since Little Reader is always accessible, my boys want to use it all the time. And most importantly, you know they're not memorising when you can use the same process, using different words, or a different sequence, and they know the words. Before I used Little Reader, my 3-yr old would not sound out words. Now he's grasping every opportunity to read! Thanks for your product! Title: Re: Little Reader Testimonials (Please claim!) Post by: raindrop lila on October 22, 2008, 07:07:54 PM I love this program!!! It's such a wonderful tool to use in teaching my daughter to read. She is now almost 3 years old and this is a game to her. She wants to go through the lessons over and over again. I found that she is not just learning to read, but also learning what certain words mean, which she wouldn't if we weren't going through these lessons. I am thrilled that you have the music notes and numbers also.
Title: Re: Little Reader Testimonials (Please claim!) Post by: koala girl on October 22, 2008, 11:31:13 PM The timing couldn't have been more perfect. I had just finished reading Glen Doman's book "How to Teach Your Baby to Read" when I went on the internet looking for some more learning material. I came across your website and couldn't be more pleased. I stopped looking. This was everything I was looking for all in one place. My daughter loves our learning sessions and I find it is a great time for both of us. She gets excited about what she is learning and I get excited watching her. Thank you so much! :)

Number 2 is mine. You may use it anytime, anywhere on the Brillkids website. There is no need to ask me, really. It's the least I can do for the wonderful experience Little Reader has offered my children. AnuShyam (Arthi) Title: Re: Little Reader Testimonials (Please claim!) Post by: wj82 on October 23, 2008, 10:58:04 AM Little Reader has guided me in teaching my 22months old daugher without any force. As soon as i run the file, she starts jumping and make sounds"bee" meaning "a b c". It has also taught me how to create more teaching material. It is a wonderful programme and i highly recommend all the mothers and teachers to use it.

Title: My Little Reader Testimonial Post by: nglinda on October 24, 2008, 05:52:44 AM I am a mommy of a pair of lovely twin girls and taking care of them has kept me very busy. Little Reader is really God-send for busy mommies who would like to nurture their children but could not find the time to prepare flashcards. My children love the animated and multi-sensorial slides Brill Baby has done up. There is also alot of sharing of slides among selfless parents.
Kudos and congratulations on this wonderful programme and initiative! Our best, Linda together with Claire & Chloe :) Title: Re: Little Reader Testimonials (Please claim!) Post by: Haha on October 24, 2008, 11:23:35 AM My boy is coming to 3 year old in 2 days time. He is diagnosed with ASD rencently. He might not be as lucky as many little princes or princesses over the world with a ability to speak properly at his age.
Little reader is a way to help us to teach him something that will benefit him in life - communication. LittleReader is not only an enjoyful program for kids but also a practical tool for special need children's education, in deed. It brings hope to my family and I really want to see more and more mums and kids benefited from this program. Title: Re: Little Reader Testimonials (Please claim!) Title: Re: Little Reader Testimonials (Please claim!) Post by: yaayaaty on November 03, 2008, 06:29:47 PM hi,
My,+5m, daughter really enjoys your program and I love you because of that.My mother-tongue is Arabic and I know how it is hard for old people to learn a foreign language and I know how much English is important, so I am glad that I found such program to teach my daughter before it will too late.It is the dream that become reality. Thanks a lot Title: Re: Little Reader Testimonials (Please claim!) Post by: sheeberi on November 06, 2008, 09:53:13 AM I just found this website a month ago and have been using this program for my 9-month old twin girls for just 2 weeks now. And wow - I was so amazed at how it captured my daughters' attention so quickly. During lessons, they try to imitate the words and sounds they hear; they raise their hands and kick everytime they see and hear the baby on the screen doing the motions for hands up and kick! They always smile at me while doing it too, it seems like they're proud that they can do it! I thought that was just a coincidence at first, but they do the actions everytime. They are now just starting to learn how to control their finger to point.
Little Reader is really an excellent software program, and my twins really love it. They are sooo into it. Even when there's a big TV on other side playing cartoons, they'll ignore that as soon as I start playing the program. This is teaching by repetition, and what is so cool is that there's a lot to do by way of personalizing the lessons. You can customize, add and edit lessons you want your child to learn so they'll never get bored. To all new mommies, this program is a must! (I wish I found this earlier when my twins were still 4months old or younger but still, I'm so thankful I found it.) Title: Re: Little Reader Testimonials (Please claim!) Post by: kite106 on November 06, 2008, 09:25:21 PM My 2-year old loves the Little Reader and asks to use it every day.
It has significantly added to his vocabulary. He especially enjoys the Foreign Language sets. His grandparents (we are Chinese) are very happy to hear him pick up some words in Chinese. Great job, BrillKids team! :) Title: Re: Little Reader Testimonials (Please claim!) Post by: jenniferloden on November 07, 2008, 11:49:39 PM Our 19 month old absolutely loves this program. He enjoys anything that involves reading, numbers or the alphabet. He will sit in front of the screen and point to the letters in each word as it appears on the screen. He can already read about 100 words, and I believe Little Reader had a lot to do with that. I can't say enough about how wonderful a program this is. I recommend it to everyone I know with young children. Thanks, Little Reader!
Title: Re: Little Reader Testimonials (Please claim!) Post by: joan on November 12, 2008, 06:08:29 AM We absolutely love it! Little Reader is not just a flash card program like many others on the market. It allows you to do so much: you can show different picture for the same word, you can easily create your own category with pictures of your baby, record your own voice, add videos... the possibilities are endless! Not only that, there's a whole wealth of great downloads created by other moms that you can simply download and use! Both my 3 yr old son and 9 mo old daughter love it! Thank you!
Title: Re: Little Reader Testimonials (Please claim!) Post by: trace_hemley on November 21, 2008, 09:11:14 PM Yep, I'm a seller on your product. It really is good and finally something I can use to get reading happening with my little one. Of everything, the community of downloads, the tool to run the words, couplets, voice, video is so useful instead of the schlep of trying to do it oneself. If I had to work out how long it takes to do reading materials manually, Brillkids will pay back itself over and over just in its time-saving ability
Thank you! Title: Re: Little Reader Testimonials (Please claim!) Post by: Tanikit on December 07, 2008, 08:38:50 PM My daughter (14 months old) and I absolutely love Little Reader. We have been using it almost continuously for three months now and my daughter is starting to read quite a few of the words she has seen. She laughs delightedly when she sees many of the pictures and we get tears if we stop after only 5 playlists and plenty of clapping for words she likes. Its really easy to use and there is a lot of scope for adjusting things to suit our needs as far as pictures and pronunciation go. While I have home-made flashcards, I find that my daughter prefers the multi sensory approach which I would not be able to find the time (or materials) to do without Little Reader (I do not have so many magazines or time to cut out and stick pictures) Thanks again!

Title: Re: Little Reader Testimonials (Please claim!) Post by: texaslady22 on January 14, 2009, 03:53:56 AM We started a Glenn Doman-inspired reading program with our son two years ago. I spent countless hours, at least two per night, handwriting cards. We bought cardstock in bulk and I could hardly stand the fumes from the permanent markers. Our son learned, but he went through the cards so quickly that we could hardly keep up with him!
When I heard of Little Reader, I was skeptical. Anything that sounds too good to be true probably is. However, that's not the case with Little Reader! I can program in whatever words I want and customize them to whatever we're learning about that week. I can show pictures. I can add sound and Encylopedic Knowledge information. Most importantly, though, my son loves it. It was difficult to keep my son's attention with paper flashcards, and playing peek-a-boo behind the words got boring for me and for him. With Little Reader, I can customize each lesson so that it's different every time. With the multimedia options, it's always interesting. He begs to do Little Reader several times a day. For me, Little Reader has been a priceless addition to our smart baby resources. Title: Re: Little Reader Testimonials (Please claim!) Post by: MIP1999 on February 02, 2009, 07:38:52 PM My son has special needs and I have done the Doman reading program a few years ago. I had to give up after 18 months because it took me too much time to find good images, then print, then cut and paste, on top of the physical program... For a time I switched to powerpoint and worked ok. But, now I am thrilled that thousands of parents are doing the same and we can share each others' works. This saves me lots of time. Also I find LR more versatile than ppt and I think this is an excellent investment I made!
Then....of course it's after LR stopped to crash which it did on my first week of purchase  Title: Re: Little Reader Testimonials (Please claim!) Title: Re: Little Reader Testimonials (Please claim!) Post by: nancylls on May 10, 2009, 05:51:39 PM Hi~ I'm Nancy ...
I started out with Glenn Doman flashcards on my first boy when he was about 6 months. His interest was not in viewing the cards but in snatching it from me! Then we move on the Baby Brain Workout Flash Card that trains both the right and left brain. He loves the flashcards but the only gripe I had was that words and pictures are shown together ... obviously he focused more on the pictures! When I stumbled on LR when I googled, I was amazed to find such a versatile system in teaching reading. Alas by then, I have my second baby ... I could not do much to customize the content. However, the inputs from the forum and the downloadable files everyone provided were really fantastic and really amazing in helping my son learn to read. My first boy was able to read by 2 years old ... the words that he was exposed to in LR. It has been his great favorite. Some rather difficult words in eg. the different kinds of clouds ... he could also read. And he would try to identify the kinds of clouds in the sky when we are traveling by car. He also learned Bible verses from the wonderful files put up under the "religion" category. With that knowledge, I quote him on the relevant bible verses he has learned in different situations. Now, when he is fearful, he would recall the relevant verses and quote them as well. When he is naughty, he would also recall the relevant Bible verses on how he should behave. As I started to train him on holding pens to write from 6 months old and subsequently writing on Kumon alphabet cards, now that he is 2.5 years old, he surprised me by writing his very first word COW spontaneously 4 days ago. I did not have to teach him spelling. He recalled the image of the word and wrote it out on his own ... reading it at the first time. I am truly thankful to God for how he make babies so amazing ... and I'm awed by how much a baby can learn! Currently I am getting him to learn phonics from starfall.com ... a website a mother provided on the forum. He really loves the phonics program ... I hope to help him advance from mere reading of words he has seen before in flashcards to read words he has not been exposed to before thru phonics. And this, I must thank the articles on your website that gave me the awareness of whole language learning vs phonics. Keep up the good work and I look forward to the new changes to the software. Title: Re: Little Reader Testimonials (Please claim!) Post by: Nikolett on May 10, 2009, 07:27:29 PM Thanks to LR, all my kids know their first 100 Russian words within 3 months! They answer simple questions and try to make sentences. It's a great tool for learning a new language!
My younger two enjoy their word flash for Readers we use and love the animal categories too! LR library even has files useful to teach the older kids spelling. Thank you, BrillKids team, for producing a great software, all of my kids have benefited and will continue to. :) Title: Re: Little Reader Testimonials (Please claim!) Post by: hypatia on May 14, 2009, 11:27:53 AM I am raising my child in a bilingual home and was spending hours a week creating material in French. This is no longer the case: I purchased LR with a generous discount and am making good use of the many files available to download!
Title: Re: Little Reader Testimonials (Please claim!) Post by: piyu on May 18, 2009, 06:50:06 PM SIMPLY SUPERB! - I guess no other words can describe it better. You need to try it to believe it. We were a bit late in trying this out but still I can see results. My son is crazy about balls and earlier he used to call every kind of ball (football, basketball, baseball, tennis ball etc) as just 'ball' and yesterday he called a basketball a 'basketball'. We have bought the version just 4 days back, can you believe it! It's worth every penny spent. Thank you Brill Kids!!

My daughter was instantly intrigued by the Power Point Flash Cards and mastered identifying every word with in only 3 weeks. I was not prepared for such rapid results as her progress has been extraordinary. She's unable to verbalize words just yet as she's just a year old. However thanks to LR, our family has been exposed to brilliance beyond belief! My daughter can identify ANY word from the dictionary including words I'm unable to define. Though no child is the same and each progress may vary; I urge readers to please show someone, tell someone, test the program, FIND OUT what these little minds our capable of. There is no way my child could have memorized words she's never seen from the dictionary. I can't speak on everyone's behalf but my child is NOT memorizing. Little Reader has introduced her to something special and has proven ENDLESS possibilities! To the creators of Little Reader.. I can't even begin to express my gratitude. THANK YOU. yqueen~ Title: Re: Little Reader Testimonials (Please claim!) Post by: PY on July 09, 2009, 01:36:42 AM My little reader makes my baby happier.

I have to stop her after we are all done because she just can keep on and on...she won't stop!! SHe learned colors, animals and parts if the body with it. She is bilingual , she reads in spanish and english , I have to give credit to LR , because is fun for her. Post by: Questers on July 12, 2009, 04:23:04 PM Well, I have already mentioned this in another post, but I guess I have to mention it in the testimonials too...I am very happy to say that I am seeing results in just 2 weeks of starting the LR curriculum. My LO is 9-1/2 months old and he is able to vocalize words like geen, buoo, ello (green, blue, yellow) within a week of showing LR. Around the second week, he saw a dog coming and called it a "dog." This particular dog has several names like juju, bobo, blackie, jackie etc...but he picked up the right word and called it a "dog" !! I am simply amazed...And yesterday, came "Catth" (cat) out of his mouth!! Its so sweet to hear him speak all these words...In fact, he has not said any word in our mother tongue as yet...!!! :D I am very very happy with LR. Its definitely a great tool to be owned...
A BIG thanks to KL and team for coming out with such a wonderful product and the superb curriculum. I am glad I bumped into it at the right time! Questers. Title: Re: Little Reader Testimonials (Please claim!) Post by: Tanikit on July 12, 2009, 06:24:34 PM I first came into contact with Little Reader when my daughter was 8 months old, but although we did look at it a bit it was only when she was a year old that we started using it more regularly. She is now 22 months old and is pointing words out to us all over the place. Although she is still not talking in complete sentences she read her first sentence a few days ago.
Little Reader is fantastic and although I knew this at the beginning it is amazing how many other uses I have found for it since starting using it - I have used it to teach single words, couplets and sentences, explain what an item is when I knew she had heard the word but not seen the item or a picture (for example when taking her for pony rides for the first time we could show her what that meant although she'd never seen pony rides before), I have put stories and rhymes on Little Reader and made personal stories for my daughter using photographs we had taken of a certain outing and I have used it for encyclopaedic knowledge too. The longer I use it the more versatile it becomes. Thanks very much for a great programme. Title: Re: Little Reader Testimonials (Please claim!) Title: Re: Little Reader Testimonials (Please claim!) Post by: Kyles Mom on January 27, 2010, 02:48:41 PM I started using Little Reader with my son after he turned 28months old. He was exposed to books even before that, but after I started the flashcard method at age 27months and then began the LR I did see an improved liking to books. And by the time he was 34 months old, he can read beginner books and when now at 38 months he is reading level 2 and 3 books, and I say the credit goes to Little reader which he may at times watch non stop.
But the BEST PART about Little Reader for us who uses English as second language is the fact it teaches kids an accent which we cant provide. My son uses Australian accent as he had liking for Australia as his favourite uncle was studying there, so he watched a file on Australia by an Australian, he even says his own name with an Australian accent. So own flash cards will help, but the advantages LR has over manual methods are far greater, specially manual means to make on our own and do the printing while with LR we can simply download the many files uploaded by members! Title: Re: Little Reader Testimonials (Please claim!) Post by: joyb on March 22, 2010, 03:12:20 AM Little Reader has been great for our family. As a busy mom who works at home, this curriculum has saved me so much time. My time is so precious I love having all the lessons ready so we can just focus on having fun together. The other Brill Kid mom and dads on this site are amazing, supportive and inspirational. I love LR!
Title: Re: Little Reader Testimonials (Please claim!) Post by: Kimba15 on March 22, 2010, 10:26:59 AM I think the best thing about Little Reader is having my daughter get out of bed first thing in the morning run to the computer and shout 'words, words" because she loves little reader so much.

she always want see her pics. always count for her pic. i love little reader for b/c i can customise and this really free me from making those manual teaching aids Title: Re: Little Reader Testimonials Post by: geniusqarissa on June 30, 2010, 12:54:23 PM Hi, I'm Watie, Mommy Of Qarissa (2years) & Quzayra ( 2months)
This is my testimoni: When i first saw this program, my baby was only 11 months old. I start to feel guilty that i found about it quite late. I can't sleep for 3 days thinking whether to buy it or not / whether its worth to buy. But, when i finally made my decision, it was the wise decision I've ever made in my life. Within 1 month, even before her 1st Birthday, MY BABY CAN READ!! At 17 months of age, she can read more than 80 words & now she's 2, only God knows how many words she can read! I manage to record some of our reading session! Thanks Brillkids for making my life much more easier to teach my baby. With only a few minutes each day, the amount of knowledge that he obtains is amazing. By using the flash card and voice over system, he learns new words, phonics and definitions, increasing his understanding and intelligence. More importantly, he enjoys the process of learning and looks forward to it each day. He often climbs on my lap while I am at my computer, asking for more flash cards.
Using the built in curriculum, my son is able to pick up new words and sounds along with the ability to read. I started my son on the BrillKids program at 3 months and he is now able to read at 18 months. The program works great for me as a bilingual mother. I can prepare lessons in English and in other languages. I can even prepare lessons in languages I do not speak or read and my son will be able to learn them. The BrillKids forum and community is also amazing. I have been able to use lessons that other moms have created, saving me time and broadening my son's horizons. Many of the lessons I would never have been able to prepare myself. I can always find great conversations and information in the forum, along with parents willing to answer any questions or concerns I have. I would not hesitate to recommend BrillKids to any parent that asked me. It is a tool that can help our children have the best start possible and the brightest future available. Do you remember how tough it was at school –to study so hard before exams, and to battle through maths? I believe that the best gift you can give to your children after love, is to give them the gift of a love for learning. Children love to learn – and if a child can learn without effort, they develop a love for learning which they carry with them throughout their life. As parents and caregivers, we have drastically underestimated the power of our children's brains, and their abilities to absorb huge volumes of information! Our school systems start at age 6, by which time our children's great learning opportunity is gone. Even then, our school systems focus on drumming in information to the left brain only, and do not focus on whole brain learning. Developing a child’s Right Brain will provide them with the ability to have a photographic memory, speed read, and most importantly to discover their own true genius early in life. Children’s right brain pathways are wide open from 0-6 years old. By flashing images one second at a time in tune with your child’s heartbeat, the flashcards are viewed by the right brain as an image, and this builds on the child’s rich neural network and develops the Right Brain pathway– the richer the neural network, the higher the child’s IQ. Before I discovered Little Reader (LR), I spent MANY MANY hours making flashcards. It consumed all my spare time, and I stopped enjoying the teaching, as I knew what was install for me after – making more flashcards! Little Reader have provided me with the opportunity to spend much more time with my little girl, whilst providing me with the most amazing learning tool! I have used the course curriculums and my little girl absolutely loves the lessons! When it’s LR time, she starts jumping up and down and gets wonderfully excited. The voices reading the flashcards change throughout the lesson - keeping her interested, the pictures are of great quality and they are truly right brain, flashing one second at a time. In addition, I have access to an endless library of files which are added by parents / caregivers on the brillkids forum. I have also been able to teach her Italian and French using the library. Let’s not forget the thousands of dollars it has saved me preparing expensive flashcards – and saved my imagination, as it is all done for you! YAY for LR!!!!!!!! Title: Re: Little Reader Testimonials (Please claim!) Post by: olga harrison on November 18, 2010, 08:43:00 PM Hello,
my name is Olga Harrison and I have just recently bought your Little Reader System. My husband, who is British, and me (I am from Russia) are raising a wonderful bilingual boy (who is now 1.5). I am really glad to find the programm that is using Doman's system of teaching reading in British English. The programme is good, but there are few things that would be nice to have improved: 1) although the pronunciation is British, some words are still from American English which is a little bit disappointing (e.g. egg plant (when talking about the colours) - the british version is aubergine!!!) 2) the ability to be able to download the programme on 2 computers only is particularly sad when we have paid quite a lot of money - as we live in 2 countries: my husband and me have downloaded on our laptops, but when we travel to our second home we are forced to carry one of our laptops with us - which is very inconvinient. Three I believe to be a reasonable amount which gives us enough freedom as well as protects you as a company or, for example, you could have offered a small additional price for extra downloading on the same licence. 3) it would be nice if sounds that make animals could be repeated or instead of one - make it two or three times. That is the main fun, but we need to go back to listen it once again. I have been using only the first semester for 15 days and by now me and my son have really engoyed your product. I hope my review will help you to become better. Thank you, Olga Harrison Title: Re: Little Reader Testimonials Post by: MummyRoo on August 25, 2011, 11:10:57 AM I am now on day 20 of LR and am quite happy with it. I have had to take a couple of long breaks, because my son wasn't interested when we first boght it, but now at 22m he loves it. My friends and family are quite impressed by the number of animals he knows and can imitate. I find that the number of times each word is repeated by following the LR curriculum really helps in recognising and speaking the words, as it is not usual for people to repeat the same set of words systematically over several days through conversation alone, yet this is exactly what a child needs when learning a language!
I must say that the true value of LR hasn't been noticed so much in the English version, as the translations I have made and downloaded in our second language, Russian. Since starting LR in Russian, his understanding of, response to and spoken Russian skills have shot up dramatically. I have found that by repeating lots with LR and using the current LR topics to focus our everyday conversations in Russian that our integration of a second language which we struggled with for 18 months has become quick and easy. The only downside is that only the official curriculum can be marked as watched, and I must keep a separate record for which Russian sessions we have seen - I can't wait for the official Russian curriculum to be released! Title: Re: Little Reader Testimonials Post by: MummyRoo on September 08, 2011, 10:44:47 PM I've just written a much wordier review of LR on my blog. Title: Re: Little Reader Testimonials Post by: littlelg on November 09, 2011, 03:54:14 AM Little Reader is absolutely FANTASTIC!!! It's by far the best way to teach your baby to read. And, trust us, we looked and evaluated a lot of different programs, tools, books, and methods.
Our little one absolutely loved it! What amazed us is that even though Little Reader program presents essentially the same content as can be found in books or flash cards, babies react completely differently and are much more engaged by the program. We highly recommend Little Reader to everyone. You will be amazed how fast you child will learn to read and you will be bragging to your friends in no time. Believe us when we say that we cannot stop talking about Little Reader to all our friends or any new parents we meet. Lastly, we started Little Reader when our little one was about 20 months, which may be considered late by some. We actually thought it was a good time to start because he was mature enough to concentrate and progressed very quickly. We finished two semesters in under a year with just 10 minutes a day. So to anyone who is starting late, it's definitely not too late! Title: Re: Little Reader Testimonials (Please claim!) Post by: canuck on January 27, 2012, 05:15:44 PM Feedback: I would like a way to organize using the product with multiple kids. Perhaps have different accounts?
I would REALLY like to be able to use this on my Mac. Or, at least if the iPad version let me: 1) Access my purchased courses 2) had automatic slide transition Thanks! Title: Re: Little Reader Testimonials Post by: Kezia on January 30, 2012, 06:07:56 AM Hi Canuck! I'm happy to tell you that we will have what we call "child profiles" in the next major update for Little Reader (v3). With this new feature, you can finally keep track of each child's progress even when you're using LR in the same computer for all of them!
Kindly check out KL's post for more details about LR v3 here: http://forum.brillkids.com/little-reader/little-reader-v3-0-look-what's-coming-next!/ About Little Reader Touch, yes, the two points you mentioned are definitely coming in the next app update. In case you missed the promotional free downloads from when we launched our app, please sign in to your BrillKids Account in the app's Settings window and you should see some free files available for you in the Download Lessons screen. Seven months later and my 19 month is reading so many words that I can not count them all! I wouldn't have gotten this far without Little Reader program which has made this process enjoyable and easy! Thanks for all your hardwork!
Title: Re: Little Reader Testimonials Post by: ExtremeBartendingDad on June 06, 2013, 05:54:22 PM Thank you for this fantastic game feature in LR. I can see us using this for years and years. Wyatt loves making choices, moving the big yellow star, instead of a small pointer, and clicking the mouse button. it's such a great positive reinforcement. Our family has been recording our own voices saying applause statements & encouraging "wrong answer" statements. The value I got for my money for my money is easily 10 times what I paid. Your prompt feedback just enchancing the program even more. Thank you so much. Kenniece Webber in Louisiana, USA.
