ASAWRWB,

Dear Kyles Mom & Everyone,

Your welcome.   :D  I am happy to know that it is beneficial.

Baraaka Allahu feek for the links!  I wish I could work faster to provide more .ppt/LR files for Arabic.  For most Qur'anic words, I am able to copy from MS-Word documents directly.  And I also want to learn to type in Arabic by touch for using text from other sources.  My husband is much faster than I, yet sometimes he is busy and I am impatient.   lol

ASA Nohayo,

Thank you for this.  I unfortunately did not see it until was too late.     :(

However, I will use the www.aktub.com for now and have requested that the developer create formal lessons similar to this site for typing in English:  http://www.typeonline.co.uk/lesson1.html

I used to have a program but I don't think it works on XP - I will look for it.

Thanks again!

Dear Everyone,

ASA.

I found an Arabic Keyboard that you can type on and copy/paste the text.  There are even some shortcut keys with phrases in Arabic and English:

Enjoy!

greetings of peace to all,
Ayesha  you brought me here.  Or I was brought here because of my interest for Arabic typing.

I had a time whe I learnt every evening before sleeping three to five letters connected to the fingers and this  site helped me

www.typingreflex.com/en/download.htm

practicing it.  And I made a print out of the keyboard.  Leving space between the right hand and the left hand and put it into my kitchen cupboard.

your first post is about four months ago, did you progress?

greetings salam
llina

Dear Llina,

Wa alaikum as salaam.  How are you?  For typing English, I learned in middle school, ages ago.

Thank you for sharing this software.  I downloaded it and it appears that it is for learning European languages.  Did you use it to learn to type in Arabic?  And if so, how did you configure the software?

Thanks.
Ayesha :)

Dear Ayesha,

when you open the first you see should be

File  Edit  View  Excercise  Help

click on File new course
Course properties
keyboard layout.
arabic must be installed

best of luck

(if this is not clear I try to make some screen shots, when you can explain better do cause it might be needed in future)

but really the most important thing is the memorizing in little bits.
salam

Dear Lina,

ASA.  Thank you for clarifying that for me!  I am now on Lesson 3 - and have hopes that I will become faster than my husband, who is a native speaker, but never had a formal class for touch typing in Arabic.

Salam, greeting of peace

Dear Ayesha,
....one more importent thing. You should learn the keys directly. I mean when you learnt touchtyping the fingers have their specific position so you learn the finger and the Arabic letter (no need to stick anything on the keybaord) just remember the tension of the finger and remember the letter.

And I give the link to  the testside

http://www.arabic-keyboard.org/arabic-typing-test/

it will be of  relevance when you will have  finished the main letters, it is without tashkeel.

wishing you best of perceverance and success.
