We are currently looking for volunteers who are fluent in speaking foreign languages to help us build international communities.

If you would like to lend us your assistance as translators, foreign language forum moderators and helping us communicate with people whose native language is not English, kindly inform us by replying to this post. :)  Discretionary points will be awarded to those who are willing to lend a hand in building our community!

I would also suggest that anyone who can speak/type a foreign language to please write an introductory post in that language the appropriate foreign language board we have created.

If your language is not there, please let us know and we'll open one up for you!

Hi I can help in part time basis on Chinese wording translation.
As I have to work on day time, therefore I can help on night time and weekend. Pls let me know if you need any help.

I can also help out in the Chinese boards (simplified Chinese).

Maybe I start a thread on the board to see who else speak Chinese?

Can you describe in more detials what you expect of these people? I am more then willing to help with Czech language if I know exactly what you want me to do.
KL, concerning the introductory post, it would be nice if you suggest in English what you want us to translate and I am more than happy to do so in Czech. Do you want something describing this project and this product or is it supposed to be just something like: Hi, is someone here speaking Czech?  :laugh:

Niro, thanks for that first post! :)

Martina, something like what Niro posted would be sufficient.  The intention of these foreign language boards is to let people who prefer to write in a foreign language to ask questions and share their experiences with us and other members of the community.

So, perhaps you could post something like what Niro did to get the ball rolling and see which other Czech-speaking members there are here.  If these users have any questions about Little Reader or anything else, you could answer them or post here or on another relevant board about the query, and we can reply to you so you can pass the message back?

And lastly, feel free to ask other Czech friends of yours to join, because language will now no longer be a barrier! :)

I have already posted something similar in Czech.
Concerning my friends - I have already talked to many of them. But they are not as excited as I am. I brought this excitement and knowledge from USA where I lived. But I will keep talking about early education because they do not really realize what they are missing :( and how beneficial this could be for their kids...

Yes, I think some cultures/societies are more accepting of early learning and others not so much.

I've just opened up a Português board - please post something in Portugese there like what the others have done on the other languages.

btw, I presume that one Portugese board would be enough to cover both Portugal Portugese and Brazilian Portugese?  I understand that the difference between the two is similar to American English and British English, right?

When I read this topic about the foreign language volunteers, I thought there where too many spanish speaking volunteers, but I turned to be the first one... I guess!  I'm a stay home mom, so hours won't be a problem. Just let me know when to start!!

May I suggest you start the Spanish board rolling by posting something like what Niro posted on the Chinese board, which is:

(Feel free to change it to whatever you like!)

Also, please feel free to translate any or all of our Little Reader Categories or ppt slideshows into Spanish and upload them! (you can get a lot of points by doing that!).

I could do something in Spanish, I've been very busy lately, but I will try to do it!  :). I translated some of the ppt into Spanish but my license expired so I couldn't uploaded, I didn't even use it with my baby because he is barely turning 4 months right now! I could try to do some pdf if I have the time!!  :wacko: will see!! I'll do my best!

Many thanks to everyone who has been so willing to help!  Our foreign language boards have seen a great number of activity, and we are very happy that a lot of parents who are more comfortable speaking in their own language have a place where they can chat more easily. :blush:

Please do let us know in case someone asks you a technical question about Little Reader or the forums, perhaps we can help by supplying you with the information to be able to answer them. :) I think this is a great progression for our community because it shows that we care about helping other parents get the answers they need about early education!  :yes:

I am very happy that a lot of you are so very willing to help us out, especially with the translations and the foreign language boards.  I would personally like for all of you to remain very helpful, because I do believe that we have a lot of international members here who are not very comfortable in speaking English (seeing as it may not be their first language).  There are so many people here who may be having a bit of difficulty in getting around the forums or perhaps with using Little Reader, I do hope that I can count on all of you to help us in answering their questions and being as accommodating as best as you can. :yes:

Hi, I think I might be able to help in translating into Japanese. I can speak Japanese but am not a native speaker. I can also read and write in Japanese. So far, I have found only one post in the Japanese board and had replied to it. It is only after posting a reply that I found out that Kimbosan was born in South Africa. I hope to get to know Kimbosan better.

For my daughter Angela, I am creating Dutch language sets. I will upload the categories when I finish them. Not sure how I can put the categories under Foreign langues folder and not sure if I want to do that.
I know there are more Dutch people on the forum (judging by names and uploaded files). Let's combine our efforts!
I have got and uploaded (not sure that succeeded though, let me know, I'll try again) DutchAnimals.cat and DutchShapes.cat
I also made DutchFamily, but I haven't uploaded that one yet.
the DutchAnimals contains photo's of one of our sheep with its lamb.

We just opened our Boards by Country, which is located just below the foreign language boards. :) We'd like to get everyone's help in making our forum more "international" so people from other countries will find that they have a place to stay in here, too!

If you have some time to spare, do visit the Boards By Country area and post anything in the board for your location. :) This'll be a great way to meet new friends that are in your area, as well as talk about specific things - like shops, schools, restaurants, landmarks - that are particular to your country!

Creo poder ayudar en traducciones Ingles español .
Una recomendación es que tengan en cuenta al traducir LR o LM al español que la vocalización y palabras de Espana son diferentes de las de latino america. Esto lo pueden notar en el producto Rosetta Language que contempla ambas versiones.

Me avisan si en algo puedo ayudar y gracias por este trabajo tan extraordinario.
