How to Create New Icon SetsIcon sets allow you to use your own pictures to represent quantities for the dot slides you display in Little Math. These can be used in many ways, such as to reinforce the concept of what a quantity is, or to help maintain your child's attention by using his favourite TV character or toy!

Today's guide will teach you how to create new Icon sets quickly and easily!
To create a new Icon set you will need:
- Image files (Little Math is compatible with .JPG, .BMP, .GIF and .PNG file extensions) to use as your Icons.
Tip: For users of Little Reader HOME BASIC, you may use BrillKids Picture Editor to edit your images for Little Math!
Assuming you have image files ready to plug into your Little Math, let's get started. First navigate to the
NUMBER LIBRARY of Little Math by clicking on the
NUMBER LIBRARY button at the top of the application. From this screen:
- Select the
Icons tab from the Number Library screen.
- Click on the
NEW button located in the bottom-left of the Icons tab. Alternatively, you may right-click in the Icon set list and select "New Icon Set" from the context menu that appears.
- A new Icon set will be created below the Icon set you have currently selected, with its name highlighted.
- Type in the desired name for your new Icon set (e.g. "Sports Balls"), and press ENTER on your keyboard to confirm.
- To begin attaching image files to your new Icon set, follow the steps below:
1) Click on the "ADD ICON(S)" button.
2) A window will pop up allowing you to navigate and select the file(s) you want to add. You can select multiple files to save yourself time!
3) Once you have selected the file(s) you wish to add, click on "
Open" to confirm.
4) You will see a preview of the file(s) you just added.
To save you even more time, you may also check our
Little Math Library to see if the Icon Set you want has already been created. Additional Icon sets may be downloaded and imported straight into your Number Library.
That concludes today's guide, we hope you will enjoy teaching your little one with Little Math!
