I am trying to  reinstall little musician upgraded beta version in my second laptop running in Win 7.But not able to import semester content successfully.I have uninstalled and tried to reinstall again and again but nothing is successful.

Error log from diagnostic report:
Object reference not set to an instance of an object

Please check attachment for error log from diagnostic.

i've download the new Semester 1 and 2 content pack , but it 's password protected, and i don't know the password, how can I take the password or solve the problem! thanks!

Looks like your browser saved the content pack as a .zip instead of the correct file extension (*.lmspk) -- please refer to this article for instructions on how to work around this problem:

I've just downloaded this program and wanted to try it out immediately with my daughter who is 10 months. She was simply mesmerised ( which for her, being a very physically active child, is amazing) and I'm sure she was trying to sing along by the end of it and did try to clap with the clap along and that's after only one session. I'm classically trained in both voice and piano from a pretty young age with piano. I remember how difficult it was for both me and my teacher as I was pitch perfect and could play by ear but was not allowed to do this as I had to read it from the sheet music first, along with many other issues along the way, despite the fact that I completed my 6th grade music exams I became very disillusioned with music in general and barely played for years after I stopped taking lessons. These days I play mostly by ear and barely ever read the sheet music. I think this sort of system is a far better way to teach music so that children can appreciate and simply enjoy it.

I know there have been lots of suggestions for the popular classics section, so at the risk of being redundant...  blush   What about putting the time signature and maybe the key the piece is being played in.  If you placed this across the bottom, then the numbers could scroll by as it kept time, (ie. 1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,etc.) I know this would really help me as a parent!  Timing was my biggest hang-up when I was taking lessons; no matter how many times my teacher counted/tapped/clapped along with me, I just couldn't get it until I first heard the piece played with the correct timing.  It got even worse when she got out the very, scary, tick-tocking machine!! LOL   After my experience, I would like for my daughter to understand timing now, when it isn't scary.
Btw, we like the blank screen just fine for the popular classics!  It gives a great time for dancing or snuggling.  This was just something that might help a few parents and kids with the timing.

Hi, I've been abroad for the last month or so & saw this latest update just last week. I didn't bothering updating it since I thought that it was going to expire on the 10th. Last night, I saw the extension till the18th & thought it would be worthwhile.

But I can't access it! I followed the steps as outlined, I eventually deleted everything & tried again. I have/ can use the trial version but can't import the curriculum content. It says "error has been happened during import operation". I did have to change the name of the file to .lmspk. I can see the LMs icon in my downloads & it is approx 161 MB in size so I have downloaded it successfully.

I will attach the diagnostic report.

Hope you can help as my son is very indignant that the clapping doesn't follow his reading lesson smile

There were two other files in the tools, diagnostic report folder. Do you need them as well - littlemusician.db & sysinfo which appeared to be a systemcheck of my laptop & everything appeared to be ok. Let me know if you need them as well please.

Hi Lois, kindly try following all the steps again, and make sure you do Step 3 (Download this backup file...) before proceeding with importing the curriculum content. This sequence of steps is very important, so do try again.

Let us know if this solves the problem for you. If it still doesn't work, do send us a diagnostic report via email to support[at]brillkids[dot]com -- please send just the entire Diagnostic Report *.zip file so you don't have to attach each file inside it individually.

I've been having the same problem as lois1 ever since the original open beta testing launch. I've done and redone the downloading steps again, and deleting files, starting over from Step 3 does not help anything at all.

Where do we find the diagnostic reports to send to you via email?

Hi,

I agree that page should not be left blank. But, while playing music I'd prefer to see a picture of a composer instead of a move (that consumes memory a lot). The picture was attached during the pretesting phases and it worked well, i.e. while listening I was able to say few words about the composer and my son memorised them/facts

I realize this feedback is too late but I just wanted to say well done! It's an awesome piece of work and I hope I can afford it. unsure

But, anyhow, great job. I especially like the clear photos of the instruments and the animation of someone playing them, along with the instrument's actual sound. So much better than the music flashcards I show my son.

I think everything else you have is great and I love the VERY many different ways you approach the same thing. The color scheme for some of it (that red with that green) does look a little ugly to me - I'm not sure if such shades are used for a purpose I'm not aware of.

On a different matter I was thinking it would be awesome if you could come up with an "everything" program - reading, math, music and science (chemistry, physics, biology), mabye others (art anyone, color schemes and mixes etc). I've noticed that it seems more 'fun' when it's all mixed up instead of doing numbers repetitively. Also, if you mix music with it all (especially if you utilize the right brain learning relaxation music) it would make it even better. Also, I would like to see the use of more color as that helps memory. Last but not least some positive affirmations wouldn't go astray either. smile

In summary, great job, I just hope I can afford it! smile

PS. Others have mentioned too - I definitely would put something on the blank music page - maybe a synthesizer-type version of the music such as you can find on YouTube where you see the notes descending the screen before they hit the piano or maybe a high quality video of an orchestra performing the piece?

We use a rainbow color scheme for solfege in the first year curriculum. For more on this, check out some of the other threads on this topic.  It'll also be explained more in the accompanying materials.
