Download latest version for little reader

Dear support, could you kindly send me the link to download the latest version for little reader? I have problem with the chinese characters , theres not much choice for chinese fonts in my current system, not sure if its because of the old version of my reader.

Hi Babymum, to download the latest versions of Little Reader/Math/Musician, you just need to go to your account page.

Once you've signed in to your BrillKids account, go to Account > Purchases > Little Reader Software.
(For Little Math and Little Musician, click on the corresponding Software link from the left-hand menu)

The latest version number is displayed in your account's Purchases > LR/LMh/LMs Software page. You can compare that with the version number displayed in your Little Reader window (refer to the window's title bar, or in Tools > Software Information).

Thanks Kezia, i checked the version that i have by clicking" Tools, software information", and it stated 3.6.1660 ... so i think i already have the latest version?

To rectify my chinese charaters problem.. i went to search in the control panel.. and  found "Language"... please see attached file of the printshot.. and kindly advise what should i do next.

Hi Babymum, yes, you're already using the latest LR software version.

It looks like you do have Chinese language support installed in your computer. Can you please check if you have the latest version of your Chinese curriculum? Perhaps you are using an old version of the content which included a few fonts that didn't display correctly in some computers. We've fixed that issue in the latest version of the Chinese curriculum (version 7, released last Jan. 13, 2016).

You will see the curriculum version written beside your semester/curriculum labels in Tools > Software Information screen. Please refer to the attached screenshot as a guide on where to find that detail.

In case you're using version 6 of the Chinese curriculum (or older), please update your curriculum by re-downloading it from your Account > Purchases > LR Curriculum & License Key page.

After updating your curriculum, try playing a lesson and check if the Chinese characters are now displayed properly during the lesson.

Hi Kezia,

I have checked that the version for chinese Little Reader is ver 3, downloaded 2011  ( dowloaded in 2011) ...

Kezia, i have created many categories of my own these few years and i do not want to lose them. Can you point out to me how to back up all those that i have created before i download the latest version.

Hi Babymum, your can use the Export function to save a copy of all your personal categories.

Just go to Tools > Import/Export Content, select "Categories" in the Export Content section, select all your personal categories, then click the EXPORT button to save all your personal categories in one file.

Make sure you save the exported category file somewhere that's easy to retrieve like your Desktop or Documents folder.

After updating your curriculum, check if your personal categories were overwritten or if there are any problems. If there are any issues, you can restore your edits by double-clicking on the *.cat file that you exported earlier (or just drag-and-drop the*.cat file into the LR window).

Keiza... the above question  is for my old laptop..

2) I have a second question need your advise.. I just got another laptop and I have downloaded the latest version of little reader from the web.  Can I restore the data that I have saved from my old laptop and load it into this new laptop? Will the Chinese font matters resolved when these files are load into the new laptop with the latest version?

Dear Keiza, please hold on for a while... I am now restoring the data from my old laptop to my new laptop.. hopefully the chinese font problem can be solve.. Will make a new query to avoid confusion  if the problem still persist. Thanks very much

Hi babymum, sorry I missed your messages. 

For the 1st question - just press the "Export anyway" button. Since you're exporting the files for your personal backup,you don't need to worry about that message.

For the 2nd question - that would depend on whether or not the Chinese language support pack is already installed/enabled in your new computer. Just in case the fonts still aren't working properly after you restore your backup, you may consider updating your Chinese Curriculum - we swapped some of the font files in the latest curriculum file, so hopefully those new fonts work better.
