Solution for users with "Application integrity is broken" message

Hi guys,

We've noticed that some users' Little Readers would not run properly, even though their reports showed everything had installed properly - it turns out that a faulty Microsoft .NET Framework can cause this problem!

If you are encountering an "Application integrity is broken" message when trying to run Little Reader or Little Math, please repair your .NET Framework by doing the following:

For Windows XP users:

• From your Start menu, open your Control Panel
• Go to "Add or Remove Programs"
• Find and select "Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0" (note that you may have another version of this installed, such as 3.0, 3.5, etc.)
   - Click on the Change button
   - Choose "Repair" when given the option

For Windows Vista & Windows 7 users:

• From your Start menu, open your Control Panel
• Under"Programs," choose "Programs and Features"
• Find and select "Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0" (note that you may have another version of this installed, such as 3.0, 3.5, etc.)
   - Click on the Change button
   - Choose "Repair" when given the option

If you have multiple versions of the .NET Framework (e.g.: 2.0, 3.0, 3.5, etc.) installed in your computer, choose the latest version available and Repair it. If that does not resolve the problem, then try to repair the others too.

This should resolve the issue.  If you encounter any further difficulties, do let us know!

ok that is the error message that I am getting but I cant repair any of those files should I download something to fix that? Please help. Little reader has been out of commission for 2 weeks! I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it but it keeps saying ok, and freezes my comp. and still has the integrity comment. thanks

Hi PrincessClem,

By "I cant repair any of those files" do you mean you couldn't find an item named "Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0" (or other versions) in the Add or Remove Programs dialog? In case you were not able to find this window, here's a step-by-step guide:

 - From your Start Menu, open your Control Panel (toggle "Switch to Category View")
 - Go to "Add or Remove Programs" (a smaller window will pop up)
 - Find and select “Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0” (look only for “Microsoft .NET Framework”, not “Microsoft .NET Compact Framework”)
 - Click on the Change button and choose "Repair" when given the option

Note: If you have multiple versions of .NET (e.g.: 2.0, 3.0, 3.5….), choose the latest version available and Repair it. If that does not resolve the problem, then try to repair the others too.

If you don't have the Microsoft .NET Framework installed yet, you may download the latest version here: http://www.microsoft.com/net/download.aspx

What I mean is that I found those files and my computer says that they can not be repaired. no i dont know why. I did download the latest one like you suggested and that had no affect here is the diagnostic from LR please HELP!!

Hi PrincessClem,

It may be that this problem is caused by viruses -- kindly trying running a full virus scan of your computer using your Anti-Virus or Internet Security software.

After doing this, try repairing your .NET Framework again. If you don't have the 2.0 version, please try repairing any other version you have.

If it still doesn't work, try completely uninstalling LR and reinstalling it. To uninstall Little Reader, please follow these steps:
 - From your Start Menu, open your Control Panel
 - Go to "Add and Remove Programs"
 - Select "BrillKids Little Reader" and click on the Remove button
 - Follow the prompts to finish uninstalling Little Reader

** When asked if you want to remove additional data (playlists/presets, playback history, etc.), please check/select ALL of the boxes in this screen.

After uninstalling, you may try reinstalling Little Reader again -- in case you don't have the installer file anymore, simply download it again from your BrillKids Account at

I have a problem with sound in LR. It's randomly works for some words and doesn't work for others. When I try to test sounds for each word - it appears the same, some randomly work some doesn't. What problem might it be and how to fix this?

Olenkabf, as mentioned to you in another thread, please make sure you have the latest version of not only LR, but also the content files.  Some significant changes were done that will help avoid audio-related problems.

If you still have problems, please send in your diagnostic report.
