This file is the vocabulary that lends itself to the LR format from the Orbis Sensualium Pictus found here:
http://books.google.co.uk/books?id=yp8AAAAAYAAJ I use classical pronounciation. It is the first of two files for this lesson.
We have been using this book as a family to learn to speak Latin not just read it. We have found Evan Milner's site:
http://latinum.mypodcast.com/ very helpful. It has hundreds of hours of Latin podcasts. He takes you through the Orbis Pictus at this site:
http://latinum.weebly.com/comenius-project.html I want my 15 month old to learn Latin as well, so we've started using LR. I will be posting these files as soon as I can make them and get them up. Even if you are not interested in the Orbis Pictus, the files will be helpful as it categorizes words according to subject area much like encyclopedic knowledge. Things related to water, things a baker uses, things related to black smithing, things related to gardening, etc. The book was written in the late 1700's for use with 7 and 8 year olds. We will use it with my youngest at about 4 or 5, perhaps earlier if he seems ready and can read fairly well.
