Download the Semester 1 Content Update Pack

We've added new media files and fixed some content issues in our Semester 1 curriculum, and we'd like to invite all of you to download the updated content files for your Little Reader.

Changes include:

• Action Word Categories now have 4 pictures instead of 3
• Action Word Categories now have an extra animation video
• Reduced Word Flash lessons from 18 items to 9, like in Semester 2
• Minor fixes to some of the Curriculum and Category settings
• Minor fixes/replacements to some of the Media files (like the 'skip' animation)

Note:

1. IMPORTANT!! If you have added any personal content in those Categories, EXPORT those Categories and keep in a safe place first.  After the upgrade, RE-IMPORT the Categories back, go to Advanced options, and choose COMBINE for Category name conflict, and also COMBINE for Word file name conflict.

2. After downloading the file, when you choose to Open/Run the file, if all it does is open up some folders (like "Pack"), then right click on the "BK-LR-en01-Update.lrp" file again, and choose "Open With", and find Little Reader so that LR will come up to intercept it automatically.  Alternatively, go to your Import/Export screen in LR, click "Import", and then find the "BK-LR-en01-Update.lrp" file you just downloaded.

3. Most of the above fixes were already included in the default download build since about a month ago, so if you downloaded/installed Little Reader for the first time recently, you may find that most of the above changes/fixes are already present in your Little Reader.

4. THIS IS NOT FOR FREE TRIAL USERS. Installing this will give you content which will not work properly.

5. You must have LR 1.5.208 and above.  We strongly advise you to upgrade to the latest version, and preferably, to 1.6 beta:

Ok, I think I'm having one of those moments! I clicked to download the update and it opens a file, but how do I get it into LR?

Alright now I'm in a bit of a panic!   I just open LR again and the lesson section is empty! Nothing is there. If I look at the category section there are listings there, but no semester lessons. HELP

How do I find the version I am using? I think it's the most recent, (not the beta)

what happens when you click on the link to download? Does LR come and intercept it?

No, it only brought the open or save window, I tried open and it just opened the zipped file which I extracted and then it displayed the files but LR never opened.

Strange. build 208 and above should recognize the .lrp update file type and LR should come up and intercept it. 

Can you upgrade to either the latest version in your Account Management, or better still, upgrade to the new 1.6 beta that we just released:

If after upgrading you still have this problem, right click on the file and choose to "Open with" Little Reader (and make it your default program for all .lrp files).

Ok, Im back. I had to download the latest 1.5 before I could download the beta 1.6. Then I was able to open the updated content pack. I had to open the file and load the "forced  content" then LR came on and imported the content. I can see the new media in the playback of the the category section.

But still NO LESSONS!

I had the (UK) lessons selected, not the (US).

Well everything is all good here and everything is looking great. I think 1.6 looks awesome by the way. Thanks for all your help!

Hmm... you're not supposed to be able to see the UK course! What else do you see that you're not meant to?!

 

No big deal anyway. We'll be releasing the UK version soon and you guys will all get this content too. Basically the same, with change in terminology (like sofa not couch, colours not colors), and brand new pronunciations, using the "Queen's English".

I have  couple of questions,
If i download it, will i lose all the photos i have been attaching?
Secondly, I do seem to have Semester 1 in uk English but there is nothing really there, I have just read it will  be in a short time, that's will be great
I need time to go on with the software because i bought it 3 weeks ago and there are many things I still don't know how they work because i just don't  have the time, but my baby is enjoying it
i will try to learn about is as soon as possible
