The Create a Video Function

Hi everyone!

I just wanted to get all of your feedback regarding the Create a Video function for Little Reader.  I know that as of this moment, the function is locked, but I would just like to find out how important you believe this function to be.

Please note, that the Create a Video function will enable you to record your Little Reader playback and convert them into .AVI files (video files) - to be able to use these files and play them on your TV will mean that you need to burn these files into a CD or DVD and then play them.  This will also mean that you will need to own CD or DVD burning software and hardware to use this function, and you need to know how to use them.

This is very much different from simply connecting your laptop to the TV, because you don't need to convert your playback into video files for that.

So please let us know how important you think this feature is for you.  Please also leave us a short note to give us your opinion about this feature.

I think this is a great idea, but I probably won't use it unless I'm going on a trip or something. Gabriel has his Tweedlewink and YBCR dvds that he can watch on the tv, so I think I'll keep LR for the computer. But hey, it will be very useful to some people, and I may use it one day  :tongue2:

I think that it would be a great function for Little Reader to enable us to make our own flash card videos. I also use YBCR and Tweedlewink which are both great teaching videos, but having video function will let us customize our baby's lessons more to include our own voices and sound effects.

I think this would be great especially if someone doesn't ave the YCBR or tweedlewink... it's great as a variety, if your child gets bored from the computer...to move to the TV. Plus, I personally am more familiar with burning a DVD than connecting wires and this would be so much easier and more convinient!

I think I really need this function so that I can show it to my baby on the TV and both of us can sit and read together.

I would definitely use it myself. I am teaching English as a second language little kids, I am involved in taking care of babies and todlers in small maternity center here in my town and I would like to use Little Reader presentations to teach little children English. By the way, admins, may I? I would really appreciate your permission.

Of course you may, Martina!    I think that this is our ultimate purpose - to make lessons happier for both teachers, parents and babies!  If you would use Little Reader to make learning a fun time for other kids, we would be honored!

This is a good function, as I could pass the DVD to the nanny or the grandparents to play it for my niece. when we are out working. Also, when we go traveling, we could play it on the portable DVD player, instead of the notebook.

yes I think this is a good function. It would be wonderful to send the video with my little one when he visits the grandparents so he continues to learn!

It would be great to burn a dvd.  Then I wouldn't have to worry about little fingers on the keyboard all the time.

I think this would be fantastic! We have YBCR and use them in conjunction with Little Reader but it would be really nice to put my custom lists on DVD to play anywhere.  It just occured to me that I could pop these in while on long boring car rides across town!!

I was just thinking that creating a video function would be great for even sharing stuff (like songs..etc) with other people who don't have little reader. Uploading them on youtube for example would make great promotion

I was searching all over in little reader for the create a video button but could not find it till I read that it is not available yet.  Would really like to write my own dvd since I stay in India and there is nothing like tweedle... available here.

I support Zlyne's idea. I too would like to be able to have other caregivers have the option of using a medium they are familiar with when I'm not around or when there is no pc available.

This gives us more flexibility and ease of use in different situations.

I believe the more parents are featured in or are able to customize the teaching materials, we will further our skills as "first teachers"! This really is a two way traffic for me - LR is not just a learning tool for my baby but for me and my partner as well.

I just started using the little reader program. My 4-year old son seems to be engrossed with it, on the other hand, my 20 month old son keeps on touching the computer's keyboard and mouse instead of concentrating on the program. It would really be a great help if I can have this burned on dvd. Another thing is that, my parents (my children's grandparents) sometimes come over to watch over our kids when we go out of town, they have no idea how to use the computer, so it would be nice if the kids can still watch the program thru dvd while their being babysitted

Hope you will unlock the create a video function.
