There are several other posts about it. Just do a search for it on the forum. I used it, but I can't say anything good or bad about it. I won't use it again though.

I am also really curious as I have just purchased one.

I do have the following questions though, which did not seem to be answered on the forum.

Firstly, I am worried that the tick tick tick will drive me MADDDDDDD!!!
Secondly, I am concerned about the repitition. When I purhcased the belt, I actually thought that it was a series of patterns which varied which stimulated the baby to have fun and also to "work out the patterns"
eg pattern one: slow slow fast fast fast
then slow fast slow slow slow
etc and so on

but it's just this ANNOYING TICK TICK TICK TICK TICK!!!!?????

I am also very interested in more info.
But I think I would just go with the old fashioned: listening to classical music, reading poetry that you like, singing songs.
I haven't used BabyPlus in my pregnancy with Isabella, had emergency C-section, and still she got apgar score 10-10-10, was nursing great and slept good.
I just do not see myself exposing my unborn baby 2 hours a day to unexplained sounds, that she already exposed (mom's heart bit, etc.).
I think it would be more beneficial for a baby for those 2 hours to be exposed to different things: mommy and daddy talking, reading, singing to a baby.
But it is solely my opinion, that I came to after  reading mixed reviews ( for somebody it worked, for somebody it did not).

I must say that I am rather worried (and maybe unnecessarily so) that I am going to create the opposite of what I want - a paranoid colicy baby? Would you come out all frazzled if you listened to tick tick tick tick one second at a time for so many weeks?

my cousin used babyplus and her daughter is not calm and easy to soothe baby as the product claimed. she is not difficult to handle but she always cries, especially when she sees stranger.
this may not be due to babyplus, but i just dont think the product is worth it.

I used it with my last pregnancy.  I think it really made a difference in our baby.  My friend that encouraged us to use it is a pediatric nurse and used it with all of her pregnancies.  I really liked the time and communication in a language he understands (a heartbeat).  I know he began to anticipate it because his kicking would begin at the same time daily.  It was really cute.

I used BabyPlus.

My daughter is now 2.5 years old.  She was born with low oral motor tone.  When breastfeeding she would latch on but not suck.  She drooled copiously as an infant and still does a bit.  She is also behind in her speech.  She is finally starting to talk but not always clearly.  She was 41 weeks when she was born.  I don't know why she has low oral tone.

I can say that she is the friendliest baby and now toddler I've ever seen.  She adapts very well to new people and situations.  Even though she can't really talk she has a way of engaging people.  She was in a daycare for awhile and did great.  She was their little greeter and would greet the parents that were coming through to drop off their kids.  She gives everyone hugs and is very confident.  On several occasions I've met people because they know Ella - it blows my mind!  Besides being friendly, she is a very confident little toddler.  Also, she's a great eater.  Loves her veggies and all kinds of healthy food.

I used the baby plus on my now 14 mo old and she certainly doesn't seem to have suffered from it!

The concept of rhythm being a fetus's language made sense to me, and I appreciated the research behind it.  When I first read about the baby plus in the book Your Brain of Childhood by Gabrielle Pincipe I felt a little ill.  The argument that it was totally unnatural and therefore could be harmful seems logical too.  However, the more I've thought about it the more I question what is "natural".  What makes classical music more natural than simple rhythms based on a heart beat?  What if an indigenous tribe played the exact same rhythm progression on animal skins around a fire- would it then be more natural and consequently less harmful?  What about other sounds that the unborn are exposed to?  If a pregnant woman works at a store, the fetus will be exposed to the sound of a cash register opening and closing all day.  What if she works at a factory with repetitive sounds?  Undoubtedly those things have some effect on a baby's development but are they necessarily harmful?

The argument that it is "unnatural" and therefore must be harmful is far from conclusive without defining "unnatural" and then proving that unnatural = harmful.

Principe had nothing more to offer regarding the baby plus beyond the above argument and her own personal strong opinion.  She even admits that babies who were exposed to baby plus are advanced but attributes that to other things the moms did.  If I can find that page I will site it.

As far as the rest of her book ... that’s a new thread topic.  Needless to say, she would not approve of most of the early learning going on around here!

My personal opinion is that, if you have done your research, if it makes sense to you and you find it enjoyable and relaxing- then use it.    If it worries you or drives you crazy, it's probably not a good idea.  I would use it again unless there was some convincing argument against it, however, I would be a little more relaxed about doing it as regularly as I did.

I used the baby plus for both of my children. ( age 4 & 1) I had c-sect with both of them(my choice, too scared of birth pain Sad ). During they came out fm my stomach, their eyes are open! Turning their heads left & right. My daughter now age 4 is a fast learner in her kindergarten.

I like to share a story on why I used baby plus.

My brother had 3 daughters. 12 years ago he used on his 1st daughter. The daughter is very alert & active like mine now. She is a fast learner & a very intelligent person now. Always got top in the class. On the 2nd daughter, he said he don't want an active baby, so he did not use it. Hai yah..... How he regret it now. The 2nd daughter is very pasif, not learning fast enough, always daydreaming.... Like one plus one can get to a three. And finally on the 3rd daughter he used it again. The 3rd one is the most intelligent one of the three.

I believe I just want to give both my babies a head start with baby plus. I don't talk much to the babies & no reading at all during pregnancy. I seldom watch tv nor do listening to music much.

I definitely will use it again with my 3rd child.  big grin

I loved BabyPlus! It became a special ritual in my pregnancy, everyday at 1pm, it really felt like a lovely bonding session. I agree other types of communication are beneficial though. We played classical music, used the Ritmo so LO could hear Daddy read a story everyday too, and a daily tummy massage after my morning shower. I did all these things at the same time every day. LO was born easily, eyes wide open looking around and not crying after a very gentle and short 2 hour labour. From day 1 she was like a clock when it came to her nap times and sleeping through. At 10 months now she learns things very quickly and easily. Can I attribute all these things to BabyPlus? Or the very full-on attachment parenting we practice? Who knows.
