I own about 3 or 4 Doman CD-Roms. The reason that people aren't talking about them is because they only have 10 sets of "Bits" on them. It takes about 1 to 2 months and then your child has learned them.

With Little Reader, I'm changing out the sets every week or so. With the Doman picture CD-roms, you learn it and then you've got it and they're only good for review.

I love that languages that are built in (no Chinese, though), but that's pretty much all you can do. You can't change the font. All you can do is play words, pictures, or both.

They were great a year ago when we were going through Bits left and right, but personally I think LR is better--it's certainly less expensive in the long run!!  LOL

Unfortunately it is not available online - to place an order or to inquire you will need to call the Institutes directly 1866-895-KIDS and ask to be transfer to the book store - they can help you. I already complain about the lack of marketing on this product; they are educators not marketers (they need help in that department)

Hope this helps.

Texas Lady  totally agree with you !   LR is definitely more affordable and has tons of variety, but again the main point I want to bring up for consideration is multiple languages - specially if you do now speak the language - I choose boring right over exciting mistakes any day!  specially for young kids as they wont complain with Doman, they will take it with no poblem. Now they key as Doman says all the time is the relationship mom-kid, we need to make it exciting - the dvd or LR by itself wond do the trick.

TexasLady thanks a lot for your presentations I am your fan too !!
karma to you for those.

I am considering The Glenn Doman® Picture Dictionary CD-ROMs set. But it is very costly, S$760 available in Singapore, which is about US$500 for 10 volume. Let me know the price in other country if you know and whether this is worth buying. Thank you!

If you order directly from their website http://www.gentlerevolution.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=G&Category_Code=CDR
it costs $29.95 each CD-Rom plus S&H. I know S&H within US is about $10 for ordering the whole set, but not sure how much to ship to Singapore.

I am thinking to order the CD-Roms too.  I may try one first to see how good it is.

HI Gloria D,
Is the Little Pim language Dvds have any errors? I was thinking of getting them esp since I see that The Brill Kids store now have some of the Little Pim language Dvds? I was just wondering. Thanks for the heads up about Muzzy. I have seen the commercials and wondered about them. I am leaning towards Rosetta Stone even though they are quite pricey. But the kids are worth it.

Hi everyone

I've got Windows Vista Ultimate. Does that mean I can not use these CD-roms?

I see they have art work in there. How is the quality of the picture please?

I love the idea of all 5 languages in 1 CD. I start to have so many DVD around the house.

Cheers

Hello everyone and I apologize for the delay in response .. I still have not figure out how to read a message that is posted in a tread that I am following.. so I lose tract of treads .. if you pm me after you post the message here I promise I will answer (pm will send me a personal message so I know I need to open and read-respond)  my daughter is into books lately and other activities that require me being out of the computer ... that is why I have not been so active here at the forum recently.

I regards Doman CD Rooms -   I love them  use them and they are free of errors, in regards Little Pim  my only problem is they are too slow, if you have been doing Doman or right brain training chances are your baby will see them once and then never ever.. too cute too slow ... I like materials like WINK to Learn for chinese and english lessons as they are clear loud and you can even choose if you present the lessons fast or slow .. perfect !! .. I bought Little pim and I am not using it.

Rosetta Stone LOL   - I try so hard to avoid this expense specially for chinese, I must have purchased the equivalant to 3 or 4 times the cost of rosetta stone over the last year in little courses, dvds, flash cards, cds, you name it chances are I have it...

My daughter is very good at identifying characters and sounds she can write and identify probably between 200 and 220 characters which is great if you consider I am clueless about chinese mandarin, she can follow easily programs like muzzy or professor toto which are good in my opinion specially for young kids (4 and under) for older kids or more left/right  brain kids Rosetta is definitely the way to go.

It will save you so many grey hairs and wrinkles (no sleep) . it is worth it. I just purchased them, I have only taken 4 lessons and so far very good, good pronounciation, good pictures, clear content, and it has a homeschool guide that if you ask for it when you order it they will give it to you for free (they tell you is an additional $100 but they sold me all the levels of chinese mandarin and Arabic for $494 each including secodn day shipping plus homeschool cds and curriculum) I am paying this over 6 months no interest.

Best of luck to everyone !!  I hope this info helps.

Gloria

Hi,

I haven't had time to read the posts.......But I do highly recomend these!!!!My kids LOVE them and they're a no brainer. They are well worth the money for BOI's and multiple languages. And once the kids go through them all, just let them enjoy the cd at their own leisure. Or play it in a different language just for fun! We would buy all 10 if weren't quite so pricey! LOL!  ENJOY!

Best regards,
Autumn
