Hello All-
We have reached an agreement with JG and they did agree to give us a discount.

I will be sending out a private message with the actual numbers, they are treating our group as a co-op and asked that we not publicly discuss the amount...kind of a "one time deal." if you were not interested before but might have changed your mind upon reading this thread or attending the online seminar, that's fine, email me and I will add you to my list. They just would prefer not to have the prices left out publicly, they are only good until the 25th.
ALL ORDERS MUST BE IN BY NEXT WEDNESDAY AUGUST 25TH TO RECEIVE THE DISCOUNTED PRICE. If there is a financial issue at hand, such as waiting for a Friday payday type of thing, please order by Wednesday and then pay within a few days time. Ideally, pay at the time of order but I mentioned to him that this is a very short time frame and paydays are usually on Fridays and to please take that into consideration. He agreed and can charge the card at a later date, but he wants a notification and will being prepping the orders BY WEDNESDAY AUGUST 25th.
Dr. Jones is holding an online seminar just for our group via his online classroom software on Monday, August 23rd at 4pm CENTRAL TIME. it is live and interactive, you will be able to ask questions, etc. Please visit this website if you need to figure out what local time 4pm Central time is is for you. http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/ There are only 23 spots available, first dibs go to the initial 11 people interested on my list. Please reply back to my PM if you plan to attend or not so I can save or give away your spot as needed.I will be sending out PM's shortly, please be patient, sometimes my kids don't let me do things.
Dear Lily&OwensMom,
To reply to some of your questions:
The contents of the Matrix Math - Threshold to Reading kit are listed with a brief description on jonesgeniuses.com
We do not include the Primer which is 100 Easy Lessons to Teach your Child to Read by Siegfried Englemann. It is less than $20 and many people have it already so it seemed simpler and less expensive to not raise the price to include it in the kit. So that will have to be bought separately. Otherwise you have everything you need.
The kit is all teaching instruction to the parents both in the text and on DVD. It is a program by which you teach your child to read and do math. It is not a "magical" software by which you park your child in front of the computer, come back in a few days and "voila" they are reading.
The online courses are not required for the program to be successful. We do recommend that you self organize, we will help you do so, and work the program as a coop. We find the additional support and availability of expertise helps significantly.
The programs can be purchased separately (Matrix Math & Threshold to Reading). Buying them together gives you a 25% discount.
Lesson plans vary according to the age and skill level of each child. We proceed in terms of steps rather than units. We have scheduled an online demo to show you the materials in the kit and how to use them. The demo is scheduled for this coming Monday at 4 pm CST and Tonya will send you the link.
We are considering all of you on this list as a coop for the purpose of offering a back to school discount for your group. This doesn't entail any obligation on your part except an interest in this demo and other forums or classes you may want to participate in via this online coop.
We do provide materials to people all over the world, so far including Canada, Russia, Brazil, Alaska, etc. The shipping costs can be significantly different. In the United States it only takes a few days to a week, normally, for a kit to arrive once it is shipped.
A couple more important questions:
How long does it typically take to complete the Early Reading & Math
program? Most of the kids taught on our site are pretty young. If a young child
started the program early and completed it by age 4 for example, would they
be able to move on to the next kit (facts master) which is supposed to be
for a 6-12 year old? Is that kit adaptable or would there be a break in
learning until they were old enough to handle the age 6-12 kit?
It depends upon the age, skill level of the child, and the consistency with which the parent applies the program. Someone who does it 4 times daily will go more than twice as fast as some doing it twice. Once a day will work as long as you are regular. Dropping the ball is the worst thing you can do. A child first grade age can go through the Matrix Math within weeks, a child who is 2 years old may take a year or more. They would be prepared to go on to Math Three our first grade level program. There are some children who struggle to make the move from Matrix to Math Three. We are developing a Math Two course for them but in most cases they make the transition just fine. A lot depends upon their age etc. From Threshold to Reading we proceed through a set of graded readers up to 3rd grade level where they can participate in Reading Lab.
I look forward to seeing you at our Demo Monday Aug 23 at 4 pm CST, here is the link:
