I watch the video on YouTube. Grammar and accent are perfect. My concerns are:

- It's purely a cartoon. I would like to show myson real pictures to teach him objects names. I think this may work for older children as they start to apprehend the relation between an object and it's drawing.

-  The transliteration:  Same issue with Little Pim. What's wrong with our alphabet? You gotta know how to read Arabic letters if you wanna speak it! Forget about the transliteration. It only guilts a wrong pronunciation as we have sounds that cannot be written with the Roman alphabet.

i felt the same about little pim . we loved the french and spanish version but when we got the arabic i hated it . i wanted my kids to hear he language and see the written words in arabic alphabet . it didn't sit a week in our house . i sold it to a friend .so if it doesn't show arabic wrting it is not good for us , the kids are already exposed to arabic speaking . i think i will end up making my own lessons.
do you know of any ipad application for arabic learning ??

There is an app I am using now with my baby: حروفي الهجائية مع نان و ليلى
It is fairly good as it helps in learning the alphabet. There is also a writing part I am planning to use in few months isA. However, I don't like the pictures in this app: they are 3D modeled characters. A sheep for example looks like a cloud with a head and legs. Also, I always turn the sound off as there is an annoying musical background when they read the letters aloud.

I spoke to a representative from Little Pim today and told him about the transliteration problem, the wrong translation of some words and the grammar mistakes. He told me they will consider making another version which will be first available for download but not on DVD. I will keep you updated here in the forum in sha'Allah.

my problem is getting the kids or well even mum relaxed to use fosha for arabic . they are so advanced in the english language tina at five reads high grades level books , has a beautiful american accent , now she is reading in french , and practicing cursive writing , our arabic ( lebanese ) we use at home and the one we read in books is different so i find myself translating from arabic to arabic as if there are 2 different languages . the language they will learn is not the common arabic we use at home , i need to fidn a way to make it fun  and easy for them .

If they are old enough, then simply let them watch good quality cartoon, they will get used to the classical Arabic much easier. In that case, you may consider Arabian Sinbad...

i don't like many arabic cartoons , the ones we can get on tv are all about fighting and are translated from english to arabic . would apreciate if you can recommend some . the only one i was excited to find was on barahem channel , sid the science kid in arabic , woopee, i have two dvds in english and my kids love them , i wish i could get all episodes so when i found it in arabic i thought this is perfect, they will hear arabic and learn interesting sciences same time .

i am sorry i don't mean all arabic cartoons are about fighting . i don't like many tv shows in engish for same reason . that is why i rarely use tv and most of the time i play dvds that i choose and i control the content . and since i have no access to arabic dvds ,i have not much choice on what is played on the tv only recently i discovered barahem tv and i like it , sid the science kid , national geog.. i need to know to look online for their timetable and print it out to be able to decide what shows we are going to watch .
