Local Support Groups / General Discussions / Re: Let's Talk about DisneyWorld

My son is 3 and we will be going to Disney in August. We live abour 4 hours from there so I am not really concerned with the trip there. I just hope that he will nap. He is starting to slow down on naps and doesn't take them every day now. I don't want him to get wore out but we will be going with 8 other people.
I was debating on which stroller to take. i know the umbrella stroller will be easier to fold up and carry when he is not using it, but I think the larger stroller will be good if I can get him to lay back and rest and it also has a shelter on the top, since it will be so hot.
Any advice and tips would be greatly appreciated for us as well. Or maybe money saving tips? I went about 8 years ago but had no children and had just gotten married. I guess you could say this is my first real "adult" trip.

There are Whitening product to get rid of a tan? Where are you from? I have never heard of this.
My son tans easily and never burns. Of course I always rub him down with children's sun screen before going out in the son and reapply often if we are at the pool or beach.
If he ever was to burn I would use pure Aloe on his skin or an Aloe Gel. This removes the sting and helps sped up healing. Banana Boat Brand makes a spray on gel that does not require you rub it in. It cools the skin and removes the sting because it contains Aloe. I have used this on myself and my husband.

I've just recently downloaded Little Reader as well and have the Lite version now. The power point slides, you can just open in Power Point and go through the slides with your child like that, they don't have to go through Little Reader.

My son looks exactly like my husband. He has almost all his features. I have heard he is the spittin' image of my husband since the day he was born. I don't mind at all. My husband is a very attractive man and I am proud to have a handsome son to match. They have a LOT of the same mannerisms as well. It is so cute to see my son do something that he doesn't even realize he is doing it just like my husband. The one thing my son does get from me is he doesn't like to be dirty and always has to have his hands clean.

My son will be 3 next week. During the week he goes to bed around 8:30pm and gets up around 7am. He goes to daycare Mon-Thur and is pretty active until 11:30. They eat lunch and then at 12 they lay down for a nap. I think the fact that he was busy and just ate he sleeps well. The lights are low and lullaby music is played on a low volume. Plus, all his friends are asleep beside him.
On the weekends however (Fri-Sun) he usually doesn't go to bed until 9-9:30pm and sleeps til around 7:30-8am. Since he sleeps in a little more and is not always as active as at school, he doesn't always take a nap for me. He has to have been VERY active and out and about to take a nap and by then it is around 2-3pm. And I never let him sleep past 4:30 or 5 or he will not want to go to bed until midnight!
Unlike your daughter, if he is very active in the day and has no nap he will be short fused and ill. He will be fussing if he doesn't get his way. So maybe she is ready to stop the naps. Sometimes on the weekend even though I know he will not nap, I will turn off his light and tell him to get in bed and turn on a movie. I close the blinds, cover him up and give him his night time teddy. I know he is not napping, but he is resting and relaxing and this helps his attitude the rest of the day and gives me a couple hours to get stuff done.

Well my son for some reason won't tell me when he has to go period. But when he goes poop he will go to another room. I have tried getting him on the potty right away and then leaving the room, but then he won't go. I stopped this after the 2nd time because I didn't want to cause backup problems for him. He has never had problems in the past so I am not sure why he won't go to the potty when he knows more than when he needs to pee. When he is done he sometimes doesn't even want his diaper changed. When I talk with him about it and ask him where does the poop and pee belong he will say the toilet, but we are still not progressing in the actual pottying in the toilet.

My son is very into cars. When I need a few extra minutes I will open his car case which has over 100 cars and he can dump them and play with them all on his "road" rug. I say find a favorite activity and let them do it while you are working. If possible, let them play in the room you are in on the floor so they are still close to you and you can keep an eye on them but they are not in the way and are pretty much keeping to themselves.
