Hi mom n dad of BK ! My little one is 18 months and apart from LR , we do Tweedle Wink DVD lesson once a day. I bought this set of 12 volumns after reading quite a lot on RB education and impressed by the lesson structure of Tweedle Wink. In fact, I bought them well before my son was born . I'm more happy and completely satisfied by the contents, however the pictures seems to be of very low quality, i.e the Art , Pics for Whole words etc. They seem so be distorted and unclear. These were expensive stuff for me and does anyone have faced such issues before with TW ? or should I just not take the pic quality into consideration ? . When I email their help desk ( [email protected], ) it returns back saying to raise ticket. And I did raise ticket in http://support.rightbrainkids.com/, but no response . Also this support website is off most of the time. im worried on the pic quality , I wish I could have prepared them myself with clear pic n audio. Suggestions please ! have anyone continued with Tweedle wink dvd and were you able to lesson thru them clearly plz ? Thanks all for your time and opinion ! Cheerymom

You made my day Lappy !!!! it was a awesome encouraging message to all moms out here..seeking ways to improve our experience of early learning with our kiddos ! I'm with you on the note that...always don't expect an output on what they read / taught today...just enjoy the whole experience of learning and playing ..every step is rewarded...just that we might not notice the actual face of the reward but for sure every moment spent in this fruitful effort of learning early has tonnes of goodness packed in it for your kids future, hurray to LR for supporting that - Cheerymom , happy learning !

EARLY LEARNING / Teaching Your Child to Read / Re: Where should I start?

ELeducation mom ! triple happiness rocks !!! First and foremost , huge claps to you for following doman for ur three kiddos For sure you have stimulated their brain ! you might not see them reply back on what you expect but I'm pretty confident that they would show this groomed brain development in other activities they do. Coz with my kid , I realized that these stimulation s are a whole development and not just repeating the words with you ! I would recommend go ahead with LR , preferably 'word split' , stories . And try to personalize it with pics that they see daily at your home/school. eg. I used to have the pic of my son's trolley to show him the word trolley, and his own sippy cup when I show the word sippy cup in LR. As LR is more friendly with personalizing go ahead and that might click out ! as it did for me. Keep going ! Learning never ends even when ur kid is 120 ! wishes from cheerymom

Welcome Momagain ! you have landed in a wonderful pool of early learning For your query on "What age do you start? " , I go with skylark ..the learning begins right in the prenatal stage ! And hatsoff in your case , ur kid is gifted to have a wonderful mom ! 0 to 2 months pretty much smiles and songs would do great ! just narrate him what all u do..like 'mommy is changing ur diapers'...'its sunny and bright today' etc . Try out the black n white patterns from Brillkids infant section ..I used to stick them near his cribs . And little toys of black n white to hold n see. (coz their eye sight is not fully developed yet ) 3 to 4 months u can introduce to contrast Red patterns , do sleep talk n alpha music for relaxation. and ofcourse just read to ur little one....i was even read aloud the parenting book for that matter.. And action songs with expressions...they would enjoy n love it ! Anywhere from 3 to 6 months would be a good time to introduce flash cards - u can print it out from brill kids. Do more of touch n feel learn, make him feel the soft, mushy, slithery, ridgy, shiny stuffs they wud love it. Happy mommying -cheerymom

Parents' Lounge / Introduce Yourself / Hellos to cheerful n busy moms here ! "What next to flashcards"

Hellos to cheerful n busy moms here ! I’m mom of cute little son, 16 months now. Right thru my pregnancy phase BK website inspired me of their values on the stimulating the senses and prenatal learning . I would proudly call it as my recipe for success in bringing up a happy child ! This playful learning brought a joyful way of learning to my kid , I should admit that it was quite a learning for me too ! amidst by busy work schedule. Long story short, around 0-3 month, we had black/red contrast patterns, music – mozart & my native singing, 3-6months started with reading books aloud with animal sounds, sensory object to touch n feel, lots of expressions, pretty much lots of talking went by . Then around 9 months he was comfy observing flash cards, specially fruits , animals, shapes (aah he loves circle !) . I kinda delayed swimming due to seasonal changes, intro to pool by 12months. By 14 months he was a happy kid reading out atleast 50 words from LR (heartfelt thanks to LR team! )., and GlennD method of number dots . I wudn't say we were regular in daily LR but pretty much enjoyed whenever we learn skipping days here n there. Now, we are looking for “what next options” i.e what to move on by 17months from flash cards to ? . Also your opinion on taking up foreign language LR ? Seeking ideas to bring up a curious child nourishing his imaginations! Thanks much, happy mommying Always goes with … “Education is the kindling of a flame, not the filling of a vessel.” ― Socrates
