Hola kikesaavedra!
Has puesto que eres musico.  Qual es tu instrumente?  Porque pienses que tu hijo tiene mucha inclinacion a la musica?  Que haces para fomentarla?

Sama znalazlam te strony:  http://www.lulek.tv/gry/darmowe/moja-szkolka-235  i  http://pisupisu.pl/
Pierwsza strona uczy abecadla i cyfry do 12.

Hi Wolfwind and Skylark!
Thank you so much for your replies and help.  Sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you.  Haven't been on here for ages.   I still haven't managed to download your programme, Wolfwind.  I suspect the fault is with our computer or my lack of technical ability.  I do truely appreciate your generosity in offering to share with me though!
I have altered the settings of little math, Skylark, thank you. (Even though for some reason my computer refuses to do the upgrade that little maths has been offering for months now).  Not sure anything is going into my little boys had, though.  I have also invested in Starfall and that seems to suit him better but there we have the problem that he wants to do activities that are way beyond him still.
Anyway, just wanted you to know your help is appreciated!

Hi Cheerymom,
Thanks for replying.  Do you home school?  We do and I find with my daughter (9yo) that I tend to fill her day with learning and activities but when she can escape she produces amazing stuff (music, computer coding etc) and it makes me wonder if the autonomous educators have the right idea.  The work she does of her own accord is just much higher quality.
My son (almost 3) on the other hand climbs all over me if I don't fill his time for him.  :-)

These longer BBC podcasts look good too.

8  EARLY LEARNING / Early Learning - General Discussions / Creativity on: December 15, 2014, 01:24:08 PM
I have just read this interesting piece that claims that while intelligence appears to increase with each generation due to enriched environments, creativity is decreasing for the same reason.  What do you think about this?  Do you think it is true and if so what can we do ensure we don't restrict our early learners' creativity?

I just came across this article about the importance of exploring and being creative to developing maths skills.  I found it very interesting.  What do you think?

Hi Wolfwind,
Thank you so much for sharing your program with me.  Unfortunately it just won't download onto my computer.  Not sure why.  It sounds really good and not too difficult to operate. Thanks for answering my post and trying to help.  I really appreciate it. x
11  BrillKids Software / Little Math - General Discussion / Re: Changing Little Maths to be closer to Doman Method on: December 11, 2014, 07:31:47 AM
Thank you.  That would be amazing.  My little boy is nearly three now so the window may be shut but I would love to try.  Thank you so much. X
12  BrillKids Software / Little Math - General Discussion / Re: LM for older kids on: November 18, 2014, 12:42:39 PM
Glen Doman says that children lose the ability to subitize after about the age of 2 1/2 but someone on this board suggested changing the settings of little maths so that the dots appear in rows of ten rather than randomly.  Apparently this helps older children to visualise the numbers.  Another thing that Glen Doman says is that you shouldn't show more than 5 dot cards in one sitting and that you should do at least 3 sittings a day - that way the child doesn't get bored and is left wanting more.  This seems to make sense as far as my little boy is concerned as he really doesn't pay attention to the screen when LM is on and to be honest I find it goes on too long myself.
Sorry this isn't a success story for you.  I was hoping that LM would be something that would be like the Doman method but take away the need to sort out cards physically as I am quite disorganised and would lose where I was (or even the cards LOL!)
However, I have read on here that people have revisited little math with older children once the have got the idea of skip counting etc and it has been very helpful.
If you find a way to use LM that works for you please let me know.  smile
13  BrillKids Software / Little Math - General Discussion / Changing Little Maths to be closer to Doman Method on: November 17, 2014, 12:54:15 PM
I wonder if there is a way that I can reprogram  my Little Maths to give Doman lesson  (ie just showing 5 cards at a time so child doesn't get bored)
I have been using little maths for a year and unfortunately my son doesn't seem to have picked anything up.  He looked at a card with 5 dots on it today and said that there were 4 dots and the other day he said there were 17 dots when there were only 6!
When I play little maths he just seems to drift off and look through rather than at the screen.  I think the lessons are just too long.  Also don't think that he has worked out any of the concepts such as addition and multiplication.
Are there any tutorials that I can use to get the most out of the program?
My son is 2 years 10 months old and has taken really well to LR and L Music.
Thanks for your help.  smile
14  EARLY LEARNING / Teaching Your Child to Read / Re: What are your children reading? on: November 05, 2014, 04:55:12 PM
One of the first sets of books that my little girl read herself when she was just under 3 were the Red Nose Readers.
15  EARLY LEARNING / Teaching Your Child Encyclopedic Knowledge / Re: Teaching about origins of life on: November 01, 2014, 06:00:38 PM
I think this is a massive question.  Chris 1- if you believe in creation or evolution or both there is ultimately no answer as to where life comes from - either God created everything (but where did he come from?) or it all just happened (but why? How did it start? How could everything start from nothing ... )
To answer the original post starting from when dd was about 5 (she is now 9} we have looked at how the earth and creatures on it evolved= Montessori great lesson 1 (http://www.montessoriforeveryone.com/The-Five-Great-Lessons_ep_66-1.html) . I loved that because of all the creative projects.  We also discussed Christian beliefs.  Haven't looked at the topic for years though.
