WOW, I’m sure that was a ton of work! What a lovely thing for you to share.

It's such an interesting question..where to start.  At their age, it depends a bit on what you want to accomplish.  My son is 2.5 and I do play-based learning with him through-out the day.  You can read about some of it in my blog -

I typically have a theme for the week and work activities, outings and so forth around that theme.  This week is birds.  We've recently made two trips to the zoo, so we'll review the pictures and discuss those birds, we'll go to a pet store to see more birds.  I'm creating a sheet for him of our common birds in the back yard and we'll make bird feeders and watch for birds.  I'll give him a bin with bird seed and a funnel, spoon, cup and toys for him to have as his sensory tub. Of course we'll be on YouTube looking up our common birds and other birds that interest him (like Ostrich) to watch them move and hear them sing.  Our letter of the week is N n. While he knows his letters and sounds and is sounding out words, I still keep doing a letter of the week. We'll run around the house and fill a box with N sounding words. etc. We'll do art, read books, re-inact, sing songs, read poems, and more.   
Just play based learning.  While I realize many people so much, much more, I've come to peace with the reality of what I'm able to do and do well with my son.  He's learning and we're having a great time.  Our days go by quickly because we're having so much fun.

Oh, as another thought, one of my friends attends a HomeSchooling support team through her local church. While she doesn't attend that church, she goes there for their homeschooling idea meetings.  You might investigate that if you want to connect with a group, or looking for some personal support!

Sorry for the typos above. Still don't like typing on my iPhone and miss letters or words sometimes. On the iPhone I have to look at the keyboard to type still and that's distracting. The only reason I moss my blackberry!

My son is two and a half and love our iPhones! Here are some of the applications I have for him:
peekaboo barn - he loves this! We had the lite (free) version for a long time. It has only 3 animals, but he loved it. For a trip I upgraded to the full with 10 animals or so, but he likes the lite version still LOL

teach me toddler - I love this one. It has stats so you know how they're doing. It hold my Childs Interest

quizzing and shapes - both of these were free and fun for my son. Numbers letters shapes

IWW lite - this is great! Free app that helps them start writing numbers and letters

sing kids songs - these go on sale for free often so I don't pay for them. Abc, baba black sheep, knick nack paddy whack, row youur boat

hippo shapes

finger piano lite

I only paid for teach me toddler and am so glad I did. Other than that, just keep checking educational apps for sale or new free ones. I use appminer to help me. It a free app that searches the iTunes app store for the top apps, sale and free apps. Check it out. 

LR old version and LR lite both had it.   For me its worth the 200 pts as my son loved it so much.

Lappy ~ Terrific!  I'll check later to see if it's there. I'm so happy to get that file again. We'd taken a break from doing Math and Reading for the summer and these last couple weeks since we've had the new baby. However, I'd upgraded and gotten the files together - but must have missed that one.    I started back up today with the new LR and the first thing my son asks for is "treble clef".  After 3 months of not doing LR at all, he remembered his favorite file and of course it's the one I didn't bring over     

nhockaday ~ boy you were missing out!     It's a great file for those kids that really enjoy the musical notes.  We'd seriously watch it at the beginning and end of each and every session.  It came with LR Lite and LR previous version, but doesn't come in the latest upgrade.  There's other music files, but this one was his favorite.

There was a terrific Music file for Little Reader and I think it came with the program before the upgrade. I must have not exported it and my son is terribly sad.

The file goes:

There's both a male and female voice.

Anyone know the name of this file and if it's available for download?

Hi KL,

I like to keep my categories organized in folders.  I also like to show my son a set of 5 selected category files each day. He will sometimes sit through all 5 at once or other times we need to break it up or he wants to see particular files again (and again).  Therefore, I don't want to make a Playlist of all the category files combined.   Also, searching through all the Category Folders and then files to select the ones I want is time consuming and my toddler will not tolerate it. 

So, I loved that it was so quick to make a playlist from a category in the previous version of LR.  (one click if I remember).

I use the playlist section as the short list of files I want to show for the week. It's cleaner and easier for me to manage. I could just move the category files to a temporary folder for "this week" however, then I'm moving things around all the time.

While I realize it sounds like a silly request, I would love it if in the next version you could put back the button to quickly make a category a playlist.

Never mind about the CURRICULUM CONTENT question from a moment ago. I figured it out.  I'm so excited to try it all that I wasn't reading carefully enough......  

There IS a history of your downloads!

Go to your a/c management, Software + License Keys, Previously Downloaded tab and you should find it there. It should not charge you again.

I tried downloading a previously downloaded file from my a/c managment.... and it did want to charge me for the file.  Seems like that's not the intent, so something you might have your team investigate.

You can choose to download your BrillKids curriculum content in parts, so you won't have to be connected to the internet for too long; if your internet connection is stable, you may also choose to download all the content at once.
