The DVD is 32 minutes long.

The primary purpose of the DVD is to teach how to read music and to develop pitch.  Quite a few instruments are also introduced by sound and sight to round out the program.  Offhand I can recall the following: viola, violin, piano, cabasa, tambourine, windchimes, drumset, bongos, congas, cowbell, guitar.  There is video of some being played.  Some are instroduced by photos. 

I remember that right after my daughter watched Trebellina we were listening to a song on the radio in the car and she picked out the cabasa.  We got a kick out of that!

We are working on the sequel -- "Rock Bassey" -- to take the lessons taught in Trebellina even further.  It should be out by the end of 2009.

If you want to teach a baby musical notes, check out the Trebellina DVD as well.  That may be just what you are looking for.  And remember that there is a coupon on the site!

As I understand it, you trade in some Brillkids points for a coupon code which can be used only once.  Write down your coupon code.  Go to the Trebellina website and place an order through the online store.  You enter the coupon on the last screen AFTER the credit card (sorry no paypal) information.  We ship internationally.  Any questions, you can email through the website.

The last thing I would think Baby Einstein teaches is language.  It is definitely a babysitting DVD and when babies are watching that they are not interacting with anyone in any language -- there are very few words on those DVDs at all!

I like the Muzzy language DVDs (made by the BBC) to teach foreign languages.  If you want your baby to learn English, they can be set to teach English as well.  I think they now have a language learning DVD set that can be played in your choice of five languages.  Pricey, but worth it.

And of course, if you want your child to learn that language of music, I highly recommend the Trebellina DVD by the Cristofori Baby COmpany.   

No worries, the DVD is not blurry.

I just remembered that the blurriness of our video preview was done intentionally to deter film piracy.
