Thanks, I started to use it with my 2 1/2 yr. old son. He enjoys it for the most part, althought it is not as excited as some other site, nick jr etc. but it's not like I've found any better either. So thanks again. Please let us know if you find any more always worth a try.
Thanks Anna

Thank you Chris1 for the information. Can I ask do you live in the UK? The web site you provided was very interesting. I like how it broke it donw into section such as this one:What a typical Synthetic Phonics programme consists of. I was wondering in the UK if you live there, do they pronounce the letter A? Thanks

I my son was premature, he weighed 5.6 lbs. he looked like a little tiny thing. I did nurse him but it seems like my production was low and I personally decided to go ahead and make the leap of making my own. Like a previous Poster, meandlinc , my son is now two and he is a tank. He also in in a size five and just a solid little guy with hockey thighs , we are a hockey family I wish I had started the formula with my first child also but, I won't hesitate with child #three. "The Am Academy of Pediatrics stated that babies would have renal and kidney failure, as well as possible dehydration... that happened in the 30's if not enough water was given to the infant, as there is little or no water in the formula, naturally, issues would arise... ," I am not sure but I think the goats milk is made similar to the organic milk formula, in which water is add, so the AMP, is wrong on that one .

TO NIKITA:" in Australia the child welfare watches you closely" Do you live in Australia? Wow! I am sorry that happened to you. We, as moms, put enough press on ourselves we surely don't need the extra "help" : I can't believe that!!!!!!!!!!! I am thankful we still have such freedoms here in the US, I just hope they stay that way.

I just love all the information that is available out there and the fact that it can be shared with other parents, ie. librarything...Thanks I also love the fact that you can teach your baby to read with little or no money ie... fancy programs... although there is nothing wrong with them, it can be done without them. Thanks Moms

HMMMM I want to buy memory magic the hold back is: After reading the blog I have to agree with the distractions, I want would like my child to just be able to focus on the intended object, which sounds like it is not FULL SCREEN as a normal CD rom game would be. Is this a correct assertion on Full Screen? Are all the 4 cd in the deluxe game the same as far as screen size, small?

For my 7 year old.
English: Rod and Staff English Reading: Abeka readers and library books related to ancient history, and science Math: Math U See Science: Sonlight Science History: Story of the World Volume I Phonics: Hooked on Phonics old edition. I specifically like the old editions that you can get off of ebay because the old editions were designed for preschool-adult. It isn't flashy but it is thorough. Spelling: Spelling Workout
GREAT INFORMATION. Spelling- is that a program you've made up or bought? What publication is the history from? Thanks on phonics ;I am looking a the $ differences on ebay, old vs new. Being that the new has cd and it is easier to play in the car.

I had posted this question on the Comparing Homeschooling Unit section. I have been using modified DM reading system and now am considering for the upcoming school season buying a reading program from a homeschooling supplier. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas as to what would be the best Reading/Phonics program to transition into without much confusion for the children who are 4 and 2. I am considering BJ, Abeka, ACE. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas. I would love to hear what Mother of Faith seems to use.
Thanks

to Happy Mom of 5: thank you that is what I was looking for information as to why, how, what, where etc.... I will look into the CLE, thanks for the web site. I agree with what you said about the Math U see. I happy I bought it and I think my children will enjoy it also. For Reading/phonic I was looking at Abeka, BJU, and ACE. So if anyone one has any more information that would be helpful. Just to clarify I doing a modified DM Reading and so they are beginning to read words and I want to make sure the transition from "DM Reading" or Your baby can read programs are smooth and not confusioning. :

Well ladies, I just went to my first homeschooling convention, www.inch.org and I was overwhelmed. I did get a lot of brochures but as far as making a decision on what system(s) I want to buy, still up in the air. I would like to start my 4 yr. old this September on one but I might just piece one together from the various publications. It was hard to get answers from some of the vendor as to what their reading philosophy/ phonics philosophies are. And on math most seemed memorization instead of conceptualizations. But I have to say I did go with Math U See. Does anyone have ideas of vendor philosophies on various subjects which I have yet to find in their brochures etc…?
