2  Local Support Groups / Русский / Re: Russian Curriculum Discussion on: September 15, 2010, 03:56:20 AM

3  Local Support Groups / Русский / Re: Russian Curriculum Discussion on: September 15, 2010, 03:44:33 AM

there is a distinct Moscovite accent!
And I have downloaded some categories that have recordings with pronunciations with this regional accent for Little Reader.
I am curious if all of the recordings will be done with this regional accent. Is it considered the most representative of the language?
dear MOM2ROSS,
the Moskow accent is the literary one. Others are regional and shouldn't be taken as a pattern.
4  Local Support Groups / Русский / Re: Russian Curriculum Discussion on: September 14, 2010, 04:57:38 PM

5  Local Support Groups / Русский / Re: Russian Curriculum Discussion on: September 08, 2010, 05:20:50 PM
ммм... не знаю, насколько это принципиально, но:
слово ЧАША в обиходе применительно к посуде не употребляю
МИСКА - тоже как-то не то (собачья или для готовки)
а что насчёт ТАРЕЛКИ?
ЧАШКИ?
чем они плохи?
БУФЕТ - устаревшее слово
ШКАФЧИК - мы ж так не говорим (поставь в шкафчик - ??)
Я за ШКАФ

9  EARLY LEARNING / Teaching Your Child - Signing, Speaking, Languages / Re: Teaching a language you don't know on: June 23, 2010, 02:47:30 PM
who has learnt spanish in this way.
It's impossible to LEARN any language just watching TV/movies/cartoons etc:)smile
A language is not just listening or learning words or even saying words! It's an endless process of cognition, communication, using  different sets of words/phrases in different situations. But don't think that having learned several hundreds in early childhood and not using them during some years you'll be able to speak this language.
BUT if you mean just knowing some tens of phrases and understanding easy words it's possible to learn them. But you should help your child anyway so - you should know what do you teach him/her:)smile
10  EARLY LEARNING / Teaching Your Child - Signing, Speaking, Languages / Re: Teaching a language you don't know on: June 23, 2010, 04:44:11 AM
In my opinion it's totally impossible to teach the language you don't know.
Think: you MUST have good vocabulary,
you MUST be able to speak this language naturally or at least, with good grasp of its structure
you can be able to keep up the conversation
and so on...
So I think the person should teach him/herself at first:)smile and then, having even little knowledge of a language, teach a kid.

Hi, Sunil7!
Send your email address to my ppb because I can't see how to send a file throuh it smile
13  EARLY LEARNING / Teaching Your Child Math / Re: Dot cards in power point? on: June 02, 2010, 04:31:00 AM
Hello!
I made this kind of PP, but it's got the biggest number 75 because my computer was pending trying to show the PP with bigger numbers LOL I didn't load it here because it's not finished. We switched over to cards.
If you want I can send it to you. There's a daily programme but it's rather odd because we did it in different ways LOL  I mean we had and 6 lessons per day and 3 and even 2 big grin
It contains 0-75 dots, addition, subtraction, and some multiplication examples. Some of sessions consist of 2 sets x 5 cards and (later ones) others of 1 set x 10 cards. There are both red and black dots.
So if it's ok I can send it to you and you'll just finish it, copying and editing existing slides.
I've got also some slides with additions and slides for checking the numbers recognition.
14  EARLY LEARNING / Teaching Your Child Math / Re: POLL: GD method - success or failure on: February 10, 2010, 11:29:31 AM
it was somewhat of a failure.
Thanks!
NEVER NEVER NEVER to test her.
Thank you!!
actually GD says you'd test the kid not making him you do it@)
testing helps you to understand your child#s progress, to make feedback and to choose your further way to teach him
