I TOTALLY understand you are going through.  My son is 2.5 years old and he is very very active and I already have a vert difficult time keeping him busy with activities because he can become distructive to the point where he throughs out all this things in his room to a big 3 foot pile of toys books, etc.  I then have to spend 2 hours cleaning it because he won't do it.

I also wonder how parents have so many kids and manage to keep a level head.  There are times when I just want to go hide under a blanket when my son get hyper active.

I want to have another one soon only because I feel if my son had someone to play with he would keep busy playing together rather than always sticking to me.  But I have to agree with you that its tough and hard to imagine how people do it with so many kids.  Maybe they use ear plugs!

I agree with not telling people, they would look at me like I was crazy.  Most people just don't understand that a child can read so young.  My neighbor wa 2.5 years old when he started to read and I remember when I would tutor them.  I am not sure if someone had taught him at a young age or what methods they used.  BUt he could read sentences on small board books on his own.  Impressive.

I would like to know more information about how to identify a gifted child?  I through Doman says every child can be gifted?  this is where my confusion is.

I would also like my kids to learn to read his native language, I never did learn it because all my parents spoke at home was english.

welcome to the site, I am also fairly new here and already love it.  I use it when my son is sleeping so that I avoid getting addicated and staying on it all day.

My family encouraged me to start early, although I probably would not have it they had not.  Happy I listened to them.

I introduced the leapfrog teaching numbers to my son at around 24 old and it was at that stage where he learned all his numbers and sounds, but he started losing interest in YBCR videos...for me it was a tradeoff.

There are so many reading methods out there, I guess I would try to see which one works best with your child and go with that one.
