My daughter played soccer from 1st grade through High School. She got burnt out in HS and with club soccer. She never plays now (20 yrs)but doesn't regret her many years of soccer and soccer friends. After all those years of running in soccer she has found that she loves running and runs daily 2-6 miles. As a small child we often played games kicking a soccer ball. She took to all sports but did best with soccer and swimming. I think she had great tennis skills but she did not want to devote the time to tennis. I think the key was having fun, once soccer was not fun anymore she didn't like it much.
I had the only child and thought I was done. I had to work and felt guilty putting one baby in day care. Well 20 years later we are expecting a healthy baby boy and will be the stay at home mom I wanted to be the first time around. I did regret not having another child at times but our daughter turned out happy and well adjusted. Enjoy the one you have and give yourself and your hubby more time. OK don't wait as long as we did! Find a person to trade baby sitting time with and enjoy your marriage. It takes work to keep a family together and happy.
I got the Arabic Little Pim with a gift set. I have not used it or any of the other Little Pim DVDs yet, our little boy is due in Aug, I have the Spanish DVDs 1-3 and will get the French one after I sell or trade for the Arabic. I changed my mind for now and an going to work on Signing, French and Spanish first. I can at least help with them and my husband is fluent in French. I think Arabic and Chinese would be my next two languages after seeing how the others go. I think exposure to the correct way to pronounce words is an important foundation for learning the language later in life.
Our daughter (20 yrs old) learned French from Muzzy, family and later in life school. She started watching the videos at around one year. we lived on the border of Germany and France. She would go to the markets and use the words she heard on Muzzy. Most French speaking people don't know that French is not her native language. I do agree that Muzzy is not for babies and it could use improvements but 19 years ago it is all we had. I will use Muzzy with the new baby once he is older.
How is your Latin schooling going. I like the idea of learning Latin because it is the basis of all languages. Are you happy with the system you are using and what age group is it geared for. You are so organized! Thanks Tracy
Does anyone have a Baby sign time DVDs they no longer need? Our little one is due in August and I would like to find the beginning baby DVDs and CDs. As is already posted I'm looking for Little PIM in French too and have an Arabic Little Pim for trade/ Sale Thanks
I used Muzzy French for my daughter from about 1 year on. She loved it and is now fluent without an american accent. I credit Muzzy along with my hubby and in laws for her learning French properly. Yes, I agree Muzzy is for older children but that is all I had back them. I will get Little Pim for our next child and will check out Bilingual baby. Does anyone have a website for them? I found the DVDs here http://www.babyclassroom.com/bilingual-baby.html
Our baby is due Aug 28th, I'm so excited! I'm looking to find other moms with a newborn due around the same time to to discuss baby things with. I'm interested in early learning both math and reading. Sign language and Spanish and French languages. Oh yeah and attachment parenting, breastfeeding and cloth diapers. I enjoy reading everyones posts and have been looking up so many of the topics of discussion. We are on a budget so any advice is more than welcome. ty
