Hi Everyone,

It's been a while since I've been back on this Forum, time is very limited now, especially with two young boys (3.5 years old and a 13 month), I find it very difficult to keep them disciplined, I don't know how some of you do it, but I have so much respect for you especially those parents who have more then 2 child.

I am very desperate for ideas on how to teach my 13 month to be interested in learning to read.  At the moment I'm just using Your Baby Can Read, but  he doesn't like to sit still during the program and chooses instead to play and walk around the room while it's on and he refuses to have anything to do with flashcards.  I started the program when he was 3 months old, but as soon as he was more mobile, he would shift around in his chair or try to get out of it. 

I used the same program with my older son and had a lot of success with it, but for some reason it's not creating any interest with my younger son. HELP!

Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciate it.

I am having exactly the same problem, I just can't seem to do flashcards with my son, I've stopped and started so many times and each time he'll just snatch the cards from me to pile them up infront of him!

Recently, I've been having problems with the Brillkids website/forum, it keeps crashing on me.  I'm also having trouble logging in.  Is anyone else experiencing this?

Because of the downloads from Classicalmommy, my computer has been giving me problems for over 2 months... I've also been having problems trying to log on to BrillKids, thought not sure if the two are related!

Yeah, I think it's in mass production now, I first saw it in Walmart over a week ago and then last weekend at BB&B.

Lately he hasn't been too interested in crayons or drawing.  If he's not watching Leap Frog, it's his lego's or his 2/3 inch cars, trucks or Thomas trains (it's a good thing I haven't shown him those dvd's!), he'll just push them all around the house, on the backs of sofa's, tv, coffee table, trash can, over my laptop while I'm working on it, you name it, just about anything that has a small surface... I guess this is also another of his latest obsessions.

I agree they are great videos, my son has learned a lot from them.  Since he's already mastered most of his sounds, I am hoping to start him on Word Factory this weekend.  What's the Math Circus one like?  I bought the 3 pack package which doesn't include Math Circus, also I'm doing Doman math with my son so didn't want Math Circus to conflict with it.

Thanks for sharing, I will show this to my husband to remind him to teach our son respect and dignity which he recently forgot.

I have yet to download all the fleschcards, I think I've only done 12 downloads!  , but I'm so excited to read that DadDude maybe be putting together an iPhone/iPad version... I'm keeping my fingers crossed. 

He might be a little too old for it, but have you considered Leap Frog's Letter Factory?

Thanks everyone to your replies, it gives me hope know that their obsession does not last long and hopefully this is the case with my son.  In the meantime I'll probably take Waterdreamer's advise and show him other Leap Frog dvd's, but for some reason I always thought that they had to learn all their alphabet's before moving onto Word Factory! 

I agree with LilyandOwensMom that limits should be set at an early age, so I'll also try to impose that on him... hope this works in my favour.   

I started showing my 19 month old Leap Frog's LF just a little over a week ago, he absolutely loves it,  which is a good thing, but the only problem is that he wants to watch it at least 5/6 times a day, which is a little too much TV watching for my liking as the dvd is a 35 minutes long.  He also refuses to watch TW and LP, everytime I put those dvd's on he would put up a fight, insist on Leap Frog and if I don't switch it over he would run up to the tv to turn the power off and demand for Leap Frog!

I am now a slave to his demands, I don't how to get him to watch TW and LP, and less off Leap Frog.  Any advice would be great.

I felt so guilty after reading your post that I immediately search the web for Leap Frog and found it at Barnes & Noble for a great deal for the 3 disc set at $14.99 (regular price $29.99).     I've purchased the 3 disc set and to save on shipping I've also purchased Word Caper and Learn to Read.  I don't think this deal will be around for long, so if anyone else is interested in Leap Frog here's the links to it;
