Is there a way to make chosen ones play more often?
all those duplicates just created themselves somehow.

Wow, what a difference!! I took the time to record his friends and teachers at his Junior kindergarten class.
 The kids loved doing it and were so excited, it really came across when Wyatt heard them. Wyatt absolutely loves it and it's such a great positive reinforcement.
He has the biggest smile when someone he knows and likes/respects etc. talks to him and encourages him to try again or praises him for getting the right answer.

We have always called LR his learning game.
He's now asking to play the game with his friends.
Our family has been recording our own voices saying applause statements & encouraging "wrong answer"  statements.

I'm making a list of examples here is waht i've got so far, we go to www.pbs.org to play other learning games with popular cahracters , like sesame st., cat in the hat etc. and i'm using some of what they say in similar circumstances.

The , for both wrong answer \ right answer recordings, is to sound excited and encouraging. I think how you say it is maybe even more important than what you say.
However, i’ve read many places about the benefits of staying away from the standard & overused “ Good Job”. Apparently, the more specific we can be about what we’re praising the better it works.

Anyway, these are ones i’ve come up with so far….

Ok, now it's gotten weirder. I startd counting and found that many of the new recording files now have up to 7 copies in the audio applause section.

I probably added approx. 50 with all the repeats that I didn't choose.
I actually don't mind because he loves them but I didn't choose that to happen.

 I know I can delete them from where they are and not lose them permanently.

I went to the "add" and found the recordings his mom and I made and re-added them so i'm good there.

Is the audio that's chosen to play random? or in order of placement? seems like it may be order because i've heard the same one a few times in a row. The copies I mentioned.

Is there a way to make it random or have chosen ones play more often?

The more I think about it the more I know my suggestion is a great one that would really help the learning experience.

I base this on the flap cards I bought from Brillkids. I began with the picture on the outside flap and word on the inside, basicly what you've got set up with the game as Picture only. Wyatt liked that because the pictures were just more interesting to him than the words.

I switched them to word first and he wasn't interested. it has been awhile since i've used the cards and I haven't tried the word only game yet so i'll let you know.
My thought is that if it's combined, it's like slipping in the vitamins crushed & mixed with apple sauce


Also, noticed that in game mode my control arrows do not work..back, repeat,forward. We would really like to have that option again in case he wasn't paying attention to the question the first time. My pad does have them but it's easier with the arrow keys.

I've been recording friends & family & teachers using the very cool and easy to use voice recorder.

Is there a limit to how many audio files can be in each section? ie. the ??? positive "yes, that's the right answer" and no, that's not right . Try again .
I recorded a few, saved them properly, then saved it again but then , another day, i recorded a whole bunch more and when we used it.
The first few from the first day weren't there.

Thank you for this fantastic game feature in LR. I can see us using this for years and years.
Wyatt loves making choices, moving the big yellow star, instead of a small pointer, and clicking the mouse button.
 it's such a great positive reinforcement.

I may have already answered this as it's been a long time since i've been on the forum,
I use a macbook pro laptop with parallells Build 7.0.15107
 (Revision 796624; September 3, 2012).

Considering upgrading to the new parallels and new mac operating system but not sure how
LR & LM would work with them. I seem to remember reading something about them not being as compatible with LR???

2. Why not just put all your favourites in one set, then only dislpay that one set at random, but no, the functionality that you're looking for doesn't exist.

3. No maximum per set, 16 are displayed in the preview, but I have sets as big as 52 and they all get displayed.

I did create one big set of family & friends and i tried and succeeded to add duplicates of the girls he has " crushes " on. He is girl crazy now so pictures of them really keeps his interest in LM. Who would have thought. 2 yrs old.

you just go through the normal process of adding icon then click the option of renaming the file.

QUestion: when considering Random and Grid Icon Placement... what age do children start to lose the ability to sub-itize? when should we switch from random to grid?

Hi everyone,
 I spent a little time each day over the last 10 days creating the below sets of popular themed icon sets and now they’re ready for you to check out and download.  I hope you like them as much as Wyatt does.
 they have made a huge difference in Wyatt’s interest level in the little math program already so I thought I would share our experience and reemphasize the importance of customizing the program to your child. Again, thanks to BrillKids for creating such great options.

The icon sets that come in the curriculum of little math are a good start but shapes and planets and dots etc. don’t have nearly the impact on him as pictures of characters that he is very familiar with.  I’ve also added pictures of all our family members and friends, no I didn’t post these. you have to create your own sets like this

If you haven’t tried to create your own icon sets, I totally recommend doing it. It was a lot easier than I thought it was going to be. ( I've added how to do this below )

 he now wants to keep watching over and over to see who comes up next.  he keeps saying another one, another one.
He gets very excited when he can tell me who he saw in the learning game. That’s what we call Little math and  little reader.
Anyway, I thought I would share his favourites.

How to make your own icon sets!

Just go to your Number Library,
click on the ICONS tab,
 press NEW to create a new icon set.

 Then click on ADD ICON(S) to start adding your own pictures from your hard drive!
That's it!  LMt will automatically resize the pictures for you when it shows it.

 I do still wonder what parameters or factors the administrator considers when they review the files that we create and upload to the forum for premium status.  also if our created file does get approved for premium status, other than receiving 2000 loyalty points, which is great… Is there any other bonuses we received. Such as placed in the we recommend category?

Hi, i'm uploading lots of new icons into numbers library but often the file numbers are the same as existing files. it's common to name files 1- 10. each time this happens i get a pop up screen asking what to do. i click rename but nothing happens until i also click the box " apply this to all future...... then it goes through fine. unfortunately, it doesn;t actually apply the renaming choice so it happens every time. little frustrating.

I’ve tried a few times since I sent the above and noticed that some of my file sizes are to be and need to be reduced but some of my file sizes truly are under the 10 MB, not 2 MB that I said above, limit.  yesterday I successfully uploaded one entitled “leapfrog characters”.

today, , March 2 10:37 AM Pacific time.  I uploaded a file that was approximately 9 MB  and everything was going fine except that it was taking a long time and then when I checked back it had stopped and I got this error message.

Please contact the server administrator, [email protected] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
