Local Support Groups / Ohio / Are there any LR users in Ohio?

I was wondering if there are any other Little Reader users in Ohio? It would be neat to get to know some local users as many moms look at me like I'm crazy (for using LR and for many other things - haha! ).

Mine has been different with each pregnancy. One was no meat and lots of baked potatoes. One was breads. Another was anything vinegary - especially pickles. Another has been fruit, mostly apples.

We've been using Little Reader with my 19 month old and my 36 month old. It holds both of their attentions and the 36 month old asks for it daily. I know one of the draws is it is on the computer, they like getting time with mommy and her computer. Cutting out all tv/media for a while is not a bad idea either.

This was fun to read for me. Here is my situation: I'm getting ready to have my 6th child in a few weeks. My 5 previous deliveries have been vaginal, no pain medication. However, my body had an odd quirk - it does not sustain contractions. Even when I have my water break naturally and walk into the hospital to meet my midwife already dilated to 7cm, I don't have contractions. So I have also ended up being on pitocin each time. Sigh. Pitocin is not fun!
Anyway, I am ever hopeful that my body will do the contractions on it's own this time, so we'll see!

EARLY LEARNING / Homeschooling / Re: Using lapbooks with toddlers?

We like lapbooking, sometimes for a young child we even just cut the folder in half to make two mini folders with only a few things inside. A folder is the right size for little hands, not as overwhelming as a full notebook can be. Still, each child is different.

Hi TristanR, Wao...... amazing, both you and your husband were very hardworking increasing the population . I was so worn off from my girl and not dare to have another kid. We would like to have some time for ourself too. How can you cope your life with all of your children? Hopefully there were helper of parents in law to share your burden. Happy Parenting ! Agnes Honestly, life with children gets easier the more you have. I think the hardest was babies 1, 2, and 3. Until baby 4 came along I had to be everything for each child: friend, playmate, helper, etc. Even when my oldest had 2 younger siblings they were so little she couldn't really play games with them, but by the time my 4th was born everyone else was old enough to be playmates together. Now we are at the point where I am the one asking to join in the play, they are all busy together. The work (housecleaning, cooking, etc) does grow with each child, but they are all able to help out there. It is funny, my 5th child is only 18 mos, but he happily helps his siblings unload the dishwasher, picks up toys, and generally tries to do what everyone else knows how to do. My 1st would not have done so, she had no examples to follow of kids helping.
