I found a new one today.  Its directed towards adults but what better way than to learn with your child.

Carnegie Mellon has an open source for their courses.  I looked at their French course and I will tell you that it includes video and audio.  Plenty of opportunity for you to interact and answer questions about the video or audio.   For being free, I give this site an A. 

I have tried this website for me unfortunetly my internet os very slow which means that I find it hard to download programmes that require a lot of storage, most of the time the internet cuts out when the phone rings and we are still broadband. I live in outskirts of Cork and we cannot get a quicker internet apparently which is such a hassell I would love to skype video call family and friend in UK and US but it never seems to work. Anyways going back to course I would just recoemmend using sites that offer doscunts of languages and you can go back to them time and time again. Also you and pass them onto friends to help out a few are which I have bought are word2word offers good courses but perhaps not so suitable for very young children. For a deal at the moment in Ireland ( im from there so its great) Id would suggest this language course at group on I have been using this one and find it simple as it is microsoft word so am very firmiliar with it and its very easy to install into my computer, I usually have to ask my partner for help, its perfect.

I have recently become addicted to learning langauges online in order to help start etaching my child, I think it helps if you have a grasp of the language first before you start teaching them or you just get very confused. 
I ahve tried a few different sites for purchasing them from so recommed one from Groupon.ie has a deal on for languages ! Think French is on there. or there is rosettastone but that can be very pricey if it is not on offer so I would try purchassing form thirs parties sites.

I'm sorry to hear about your issues with your mother, it is so sad when faily are pulled apart by such issues. Its just that soemtimes you dont have any control over how people feel or predict how they will feel.

I suggest perhaps a family meeting, as funny as this sounds it can help to ease pressure and resolve awkward situations.

  

I now on averaging 5 hours a night but that is still interrumpted sleep, but before for about 4 weeks it was only 2 hours!

I thought I was going to go mad, did anyone else survive on such little sleep?

 

I have a neice who's father is half german and my sister is naitive english. She has suggested to my using lost of verbal activities to teach children and from an early age, even if you just talk a bit of either language just so they start being firmiliar with the words, not the differences in the langugaes. Another good method is them listneing to tapes or CD's ( this is a site I have found with a offer on), so if you are cleaning or cooking the child can just listent to them. Or you can learn this language course and teach your child.

I have treid quite a few activities with corks with my children and they are smething which is used quite a bit in our house ( I do love a good glass of wine with dinner)

Cork Animals :  Turn corks into cool floating animals. You basically just string corks on strong wire. As you will notice from the pictures above, the head is usually the smallest part of the body...and the corks get bigger until the middle of the body. Then the legs taper down to smaller corks too. The above animals might not look like much, but after you paint them, they will look amazing.

Can anyone recommend a good program to teach a toddler French? Something similar to LR?

One of my friends partner is german and started teaching her daughter the language by talking to her but listening to Rosetta Stone, and she then recommeded me the programme and I have to say say it was fantastic, It is so easy to use and understand, I have had nithing but good learning experiences from it. I have seen a few offers for this software as it is quite expensive sometimes.

I have a never ending list of "school supply" needs, either things I would like right now or planning for the future. I have them written down, but for convenience and sharing with Grandma or even other early learning parents, I figured I could track it on an online registry. www.wishlist.com is really easy and allows you to install a button on your toolbar.

Also, I just learned about www.Pintrest.com recently. Is anyone here using it and if so, what do you think?

I love Pintrest think its such a fun, easy to use website/blog/moodboard for images. I get addicted to browsing images in the evenings after the kids have gone to bed. I love getting tips for cooking and receipes especially. I have been looking for gifts ideas for my mother of the children and was thinking a photo frame with their pictures, I ahve tried Photobox but really wanted a canvas printed, then I found this great site for photos to be printed on canvases.   
I think they will love it, am even thinking of getting some for our home too!
