LR crashes during playback (FIXED!)

Hi KL,

I installed ffdshow and the LR is running fine now. I played both BK Lessons and my own playlists half hour ago, it did not crash at all. The only problem I had was the clicking sound when I manually operate the slides. The fastest auto forward with the older LR version was not fast enough in my opinion. Now with new LR, I can set Auto Forward with 0 sec dealy which works great for us.

Thanks for your hard work. My little guy was happy to be able to do his LR lessons again. I will report if I have any more problems.

Looks like I am not very smart again...
During setup, there will be a page called "Select Additional Tasks", and you will see "Decode the following video formats with ffdshow" and "Decode the following audio formats with ffdshow".  PLEASE CHECK THE SECOND (AUDIO) OPTION AT LEAST, BUT BETTER TO CHECK BOTH BOXES.
Is that the right page? What do I check? MP3 is checked,but even then there are 3 circles to choose from????? KL, save me!!!!!!!            

P.S. LR didn't crash today though

That is the right page. Both the options should be checked by default. You don't need to do anything there. Just click next. That should work fine!

I didn't have time until now to implement your instructions to fix the LR problems, so I'm sorry I didn't help with more feedback, but I'm happy to report that your tricks seem to be working, thank you!

The first session went on without interruption after installing codec!    Thanks for providing prompt support. LR curriculum looks really great! Kudos to the entire team who worked on it. I will run through a couple of more sessions and update if I encounter any problems.

Oh thanks for reporting!!! Looks like we finally nailed that bug!!

Nikolett, it looks like you can just not check anything and it will still work, judging from what Lucky said. (Lucky, actually, I wanted you to check the 'parent' boxes which are ABOVE where it says (for example) mp3.  But looks like you don't have to!)

When I ran the codec installation, I noticed that the parent boxes ("Decode the following video formats with ffdshow" and "Decode the following audio formats with ffdshow") were already checked and I didn't really have to do anything. I just went through and clicked Next/Continue.

Nikolett, hope that works for you. Do verify that the boxes next to the above options are green/checked. You don't have to worry about the child options.
