KL & Lappy,
his is what I'm doing but still failed..  Sad  I did not uninstall the previous software since u said i dont have too..

1: Copy -Paste All the folder in Little Reader Home & Math @ D space as back up.
2: Go to Account Management & download the new LR & LM
3: Once finished, I copy the both file- new LR & LM to Desktop & extract the content (since all is zip file)
4: Then i run the system . When i run the system, the error msg pop up is 1628: Failed to complete installation. same goes to my LM.

Shud i wait unttil tommorow to try again...maybe the netwrok @ LR & LM is so heavy so it effects the software? i have no idea ..

do let me know please... big grin

Hi Watie,

Judging from the error message you received, it would seem that you had two or more installation (or uninstall) processes going at the same.  This has nothing to do with our network, since you have already downloaded the installer.  Be sure to install one software at a time, and wait for the installation to be completed before starting another one.

smile There's no need to wait since you have already fully downloaded the installer; just try to click on the installer file again (make sure to do it one at a time) and go through the whole installation process.

Watie, what happens after you double click on the installation files to run them?  What do you see? What is the last thing you see? I need to know what stage it got to.

Also, check your My Documents\BrillKids\ folder. See if there is a "Little Reader" folder (NOT "Little Reader HOME" folder) created, and if so, see if there's an "error" or "error.log" file there.  If so, attach it here.

Hi Lappy & KL,

I tried to install it again today but still failed.   wacko
Actually, before this, i install the program one at a time, one by one.
I check my Brillkids folder, there are no Little Reader folder in it ..only Little Reader Home .
I can see that the system is running when i click the Little_Reader_install file..but suddenyly it stop & the error msg is this.

1628: Failed to complete installation

Do i have to delete the zip & extract file for LM & LR and try to downloaded it again from my Account Mgmt > Software & License?   Sad it take sometimes to downloaded it ..

do let me know please .. i want to explore the new LR & LM.... biggrin

KL & Lappy,

Today,first thing in the morning, switch on my pc &  i tried to download & install the software @ my PC (before this @ my laptop) . Since i can install the software @ 2 computer, i tried to d/load the new version @ my pc to see whether it works or not.. and there is no installation running - my concern is only to install the new LR.

@ first, it failed due to .net framework 2.0. but i managed to install it right after that .. then i continue to install LR

then ..the same thing happend again ... tongue exactly like what happened to my laptop (please read above) . the software run smoothly, but at the end ..error msg pop up 1628: Failed to complete installation mad

i do all the process again - task manager, delete the temp file but STII FAILED with same error ..

please help me on this .. yes  i do not dare to uninstall my LR @ my laptop coz i believe once i reinstall it, i will never get to use it anymore!! (coz my pc is very fresh & new with LR also failed to install).

please ..it nearly one week already dear ..i cant stand it anymore ..i want o hve the nw softwre ..whoaa.a...... wacko

Can you install the latest Windows Installer Engine from:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloadS/details.aspx?familyid=5A58B56F-60B6-4412-95B9-54D056D6F9F4&displaylang=en

Please select from the list the applicable version ( XP/Vista etc.).

Let us know how that goes.

Hi KL,

I've done as what u told me to do..I'm able to download the new version of Windows Installer Engine, but when i run the LR software to install it..still failed with same error msg.

I even delete my previous folder (the zip file & the extracted file of LR) that contain the LR software to install (now at Recycle Bin)  & try to download again from my Accnt Mgmnt, but when i run the software, still got same error msg..  unsure

i wish to thanks u & your team!! Yes, youre totally right! The problem is due to my Kapesky Internet Security 2009 that i purchase. Both of my laptop & PC is using the KIS 2009 since i bought for 3 PC license usage.

Right after i read ur pm, i straight away unbale my KIS for temmporary & try to install it again. Gosh..I run tru very smoothly! I was so so relieved ....same goes to my LM.

I will do the same thing with my PC afetr this. Well, I'm very sure its due to KIS, thats y i straight away do it on my laptop (even tho u said try on PC first)..hehhehe..

i just did the 1st part u told me..the below part u ask me to do, i ignore coz the problem is due to KIS & not other thing.

tq so much for ur effort to help me * hug hug hug* . Really apprecaite it...aiya ...this KIS really turn off my mood for so many days! Before this, the first time i bought & download, eventho the KIS is on, no prob at all. Only now they have prob. haiya... tongue
