This is a DEMO post for our new auction site.   

This is where you can post your products and sell your wares.  Post as many details about the product as possible, and you can even use the attachment function to post more pictures of your product, to give interested forumers a better picture of what you're selling!

Feel free to try out the BIDDING here, so you can go through the process of bidding and buying.

Hi Lappy

A minute or so ago I saw the demo auction with dummy product - price - pic - etc - and an invite to practise bidding.  Then I went to find out what else was written on the subject - but can't return to the dummy bidding again. 

I think this is a brilliant idea! however I can't remember if there was a place to put in where the item is located - for people who are spread over the whole globe this could be important from shipping point of view. In fact it was when I tried to check on that point that I realised I couldn't find it again.

Please do remember to put in as much details in the text area of your Auction Post - where the item is located, how long it'll probably take to ship, other shipping details and options, etc.

Let me check on the dummy bidding if it's still possible to view after bidding... it should be available for viewing as many times as desired.

Uh oh, but this IS the dummy bidding section! If you can still see this, you'll be able to access it.  Just go to the top of the post and you'll be able to practice bidding.  Why don't you try bidding on it?

I honestly couldn't see the top of the screen at the time of my first post on this thread -

I have found that very often I have that part missing when I click on the shortcut logo on my desktop - its the top part of the screen that has:

 'help' - 'Hi (name)' - 'inbox' - 'account' - 'logout' 
then a space below for

'brillbaby brillkids '
FORUM

and a line to show HOME - FILE DOWNLOADS - GALLERY etc

If I want to see my account for instance I have to jiggle about from screen to screen - restart laptop and so on till I hit the right one seemingly at random.

When I did access it - it was there just as you said.    Is it some kind of bug?

I can't understand anything else on that page - am totally 'untechy'  (DS#2 works in IT - but he is not here till Sunday  >  ....)

Also - if I want to run a dummy auction for practise - can I just take a piccy of anything such as a baby toy and put a price of ... say £50 as starting price to see what happens?   (I am in UK so use £££    ? )

Sometimes that happens to me too... I get only refresh and bacj buttons before the topic itself and I have to eaither refresh or open a new window...is this the same thing? or does this hav eto do with my connection?

Yes same here - but with me the refresh button and the back button don't actually seem to do anything - thats another thing I was going to ask about

OK, why don't you all try creating test auctions yourselves over the next few days to get the hang of it. Just make sure you write "TEST" in the subject heading.
