Bagoong, chicharon, halya, puto't kutsinta, ginataan, tapa, daing, tuyo.... at marami pang iba.

Or kung may
budget, padalan ko kayo...hehehehe.... LOL

Actually magkamukha sila.
kinakayod ang laman nito and good as giniling na pork. Lasang baboy in fairness.

Ibalot, i-fry... wow sarap!

Pwede ring gawing nuggets.

LOL

Dito ako nakatira sa Hong Kong, at medyo matagal na since nakabalik ako sa Pinas, although I'm flying back at the end of this month para maabutan ko yung sister ko dahil she's giving birth on the 28th.

To be honest, kahit saan man ako, paborito ko pa rin ang lutong Pinoy, just because there's nothing like it anywhere else.  Nothing is as savory as lechong baboy or as "maalat" as daing na danggit or as "maasim" as sinigang sa kamias, or as sweet as leche flan. Sa California man, it was comforting to know that there's a Seafood City na malapit kung saan pwede akong bumili ng Mang Tomas, or dito sa Hong Kong, we have a mall called "WorldWide" where we have a lot of Filipino stalls selling wares from the Philippines.

Wink To answer Danellie's question, I would have to say that my favorite Pinoy food is Danggit; my mother's family comes from Bacolod and Ilo-Ilo, and we used to have these for breakfast when I was young.

Nakatikim na ako ng danggit at masarap talaga sya.
Minsan may partner pang dilis na isasawsaw sa sukang may sili.  laugh

Kapag mainit, masarap ang samalamig, halo-halo, ginilo, sago, gulaman...
Kapag tag-lamig, sinigang at nilaga... the best.

can u imagine nung naglilihi ako k issam, i told my mom n parang gusto kumain ng kilawing papaya, im not sure kung familiar kyo dun or baka sa amin lang sa cavite mayroon non, di sya atsra.may galunggung sya n himay n sinisa sa bawang at sibuyas then ung grated raw papaya plus suka at siling haba,,,,ang sarap with porkchop rolleyes so my mom send me, natawa tuloy asawa ko kse daw baka mas mahal p yung cost ng shipping kaysa sa food.
both me n my hubby loves pork!(yep christian sya)
then later on the cravings went to kare-kare salamat sa chowking restaurant!
hubby loves sinigang n hipon, adobong manok
bat nga b iba talaga lasa ng pagkain ntin?talagang masarap!!!!!

Hahaha for sure! LOL Nagtataka nga lang ako kung bakit walang magandang Filipino restaurant dito sa Hong Kong, mostly mga maliliit na carinderia style lang, so there's no place to have a sit-down lunch and introduce great Filipino food to our foreign friends!

Sana nga magkaroon ng ganun dito... give me a couple of years and kung wala pa, magtatayo na ako!

Ang sarap nman ng topic na ito..
Coming from Cebu yung lechon tlaga yung namimiss ko w/ matching puso(hanging rice), tapos sawsaw sa maanghang na suka.not to discriminate other lechons ha but hindi uso sa cebu yung mang tomas kase sa sarap ng lechon suka lang solve ka na  Wink  kahit anong lechong cebu pwede na but my top 2 choices are CnT & Alejo's *drooling*. kaya if you get the chance to visit the island, i try nyo yun.Cguro pag uwi namin drcho na dun straight from the airport, LOL...
My other faves are yung siomai w/ spicy black beans/garlic/chili sauce sa labangon, chinese ngohiong sa guadalupe, chicharon bulaklak sa mabolo, steamed rice sa dimsum break/harbour city, pork bbq n chicken skin sa larsian o backgate ng SWU,sutukil (sugba-tuwa-kilaw...ihaw-tinola-kinilaw) sa mactan shrine lapu-lapu and lastly humba (its pork stew but iba sa adobo) ng tita ko...karamihan nito ay tabi-tabi lang that locals frequent.
As for tagalog foods n other filipino dishes d ko nman masyadong namimiss kase we're in LA as per Lappy may Seafood City and malapit lang sa amin yun, mga 5-7 mins drive lang, malapit lang din yung Red Ribbon,Goldilocks n Jollibee sa amin,Chowking medyo malayo.Marami ding mga Filipino restos all over LA.Kung mdyo high end nman daw may Max's, Gerry's Grill & Salakot.
