Montessori 3-Part Cards

It's not really working great though.

I'll check into the second link though, I like the idea of the sewn pouch.

Thanks for letting me know the mini folders is not as good as it sounds.
I like the idea of the sewn pouch, but thats alot of pouches to sew.
I think I will stick with my small manilla envelopes. 
At what age did you start using these type of cards with your child?

I'm using them with both my children, aged 24 months and 5 years.  The two year old adores them. I'll take a picture of what I made later to show it (and why I don't like it).

I store my 3-part cards in laminated pouches that I made this way:

1. Get a piece of colored construction paper and fold 2/3 of the way lengthwise. You can use plain ones but I used the colored ones so I can color-code my pouches and cards.

2. Laminate the folded construction paper. Fold the laminated paper into 3 leaving a small flap at one end. (See attached pics.)

3. Using an Exacto knife, carefully make 3 slits along the edge of the folded end of the paper to make 3 pouches - one each for the control cards, picture cards, and labels.

4. Put Velcro dots on the underside of the flap to secure the pouch closed.

5. Label the front side of the pouch.

I think the sewn pouches are similar but this is so much easier and faster to make!

Thank you again, so much!  I finally just made one and it's perfect!!  I'm so excited to make more now and I love the idea of color-coding subjects.

Do you keep your cards out where she can choose them (similar to the a Montessori classroom would), or do you keep them stored somewhere else for you and bring them out for her?

If some are at her level, how do you store/present them to her on a shelf, etc.? I hope that question made sense.
