as salaamu 'alaikum!
As I am learning Arabic, I am frustrated! because there are no materials for parents learning a language to teach to their child! Nor are there any phrasebooks or common dialogues that mothers/parents use with their children at home.
I discovered this book:
Family Language Learning
Learn Another Language, Raise Bilingual Children
Author: Christine Jernigan
http://www.multilingual-matters.com/display.asp?K=9781783092802and need some help, please!, for translating common exchanges in English to Arabic. I also began creating a 'phrasebook' as a way to get started:
http://www.phraseum.com/user/2205 and decided to switch to google docs spreadsheet in order to have MSA and different dialects, etc. As I make phrase cards, soundclips can be embedded and/or use
http://www.chirbit.com/.
We can then make categories and playlists, and .ppts based on these 'conversations'.
I also created a facebook page, if any native Arabic speakers want and are able to help me, please?:
https://www.facebook.com/SpeakArabicAtHomeThank you!
as salaamu 'alaikum.
