UPDATE YOUR CHINESE CURRICULUM FOR FREE!

What's new in the Little Reader Chinese Curriculum:
NEW GAME MODE
 At the end of each day's lesson, your child can play a fun picture or word game!
MORE STORIES
 The new curriculum includes 22 stories, and Story Time now starts from the very first day of Semester 2!

You can go to Account > Purchases >Little Reader Curriculum and License Keys (section 2 on the left)

Then you scroll down ( depending on how many other curriculum you use it will be short or long scroll) and you will see "Chinese (CNS) Curriculum"  Proceed with downloading content and licenses, and when download completed simply import it into LR ( either by chosing "open with LR" when you start downloading or double clicking the downloaded file) After that updated curriculum will be imported into your LR and New Curriculum Course re-generated, all the data will be updated authomatically.

Just a tip, make sure that you are using the latest Version of the Little Reader!

I am using the latest reader. However, Pinyin 1 and pinyin 2 didn't work (only sound, no text appeared, it was blank), and word flash at the end, some words appeared, some didn't.

Any suggestions on what I could do?

Dear RonandReo,

I am sorry you experienced some problems!

I would suggest the following:

1) Use support ticketing system. Write the technical support at http://support.brillkids.com/, that way you are able to provide them with all the information they will need to find the solution for you without the need to post it here for everyone to see

2) When you write technical support, please provide as much information as possible. The more specific, the better.

 - Which of our software is causing the issue

 - Date and time of problem (Please also give specific timezone or country where you are from so our tech support can track the logs in case something happened at that time period)

 - License key of the program

 - Version of the software being used
If you don't know what this is, you can find your software version by following this guide:
http://support.brillkids.com/entries/20426777-How-to-find-your-BrillKids-software-version

Give tech support a specific sample to search for. Especially if the issue concerns content or content playback. Like this: "My Chinese Simplified curriculum does not show images. For example: Day 007, Session 1, Multisensory, Action Words - I cannot see any images."

I am positive they will be able to pin point the problem and get you all set up with your lessons!

i have the same error message as above and when i click check course update, it either says i have the latest version or no internet connection detected. pls help, TIA

For sacakon and 211210:

The complete "Protocol format is not supported..." error message does mention what's causing the error: You are using an old version of the Little Reader software which is incompatible with the Chinese curriculum that you are trying to download.

To fix this problem, please update Little Reader by following the instructions here (as of today the latest version is 3.3.1500): http://support.brillkids.com/entries/20432656-How-to-update-your-Little-Reader-software-to-the-latest-version

Once you've updated Little Reader, try downloading your Chinese curriculum again.

For RonandReo:

Have you written to us already? I don't think we got any support request from you from the past few days.

As an initial solution, try downloading your Chinese curriculum again, making sure that your Internet connection is stable throughout the download process.

If you're still having problems, kindly write to us as Skylark suggested earlier. As an alternative to our helpdesk ticketing system, you may email us directly at support[at]brillkids[dot]com.

Aside from what Skylark mentioned, please include these details when you write to us:

1. Any error message that you got when you were playing your Chinese lessons or when you tried to re-download your lessons (you may screenshots of the errors)

i have uninstalled little reader as it is not the latest version. when i try to download the curriculum and license key, it says my c drive has not enough space. i have previously installed little reader before uninstalling it, why will i not have enough space in cdrive. is this correct or i am doing something wrong. TIA

Hi 211210, please try checking your "Downloads" folder or wherever you usually save the files that you download - you may need to delete the older LR files (or any other file) from there since you don't need them anymore.

Once you've removed all old or unused files from your computer, do try downloading your curriculum again.

hi kezia
i did uninstalled little reader and reinstalled it (there are no courses except trial course as reflected on little reader).
is it because there are already 2 activations hence i cant download the curriculum? do i need to remove one? once removed, will i be able to activate w/o physical cds?

Unless you installed Little Reader on a different computer (i.e., reformatted or replacement computer), you don't need to remove your activation records.

How much available space do you have in your C:\ drive now?

Just in case there are other things causing your download problem, please create a diagnostic report and send it to us so we can troubleshoot further. (Click here for instructions)

How do I know if I am getting the updated curriculum on my iPad? When I go to "restore", it shows the date of the curriculum as being in November 2012.

Hi Elaida, if you already restored / downloaded the Chinese curriculum in your iPad, just go to Lesson Library > Courses and check any day's lesson from Chinese Sem 1 or 2. If you see a "Game" section in at the end of each session, that means you already have the updated curriculum.

Usually when there is a content update available for you, you will see a red circular icon on the app's "Download Lessons" button, and you will also see an "Updates" section when you go to the Download Lessons screen (it will appear to the left of the "Downloads" section). If you don't see any of those update signs, then that means you already have the latest version of your course or category.

Hello everyone,

I managed to update the Chinese curriculum after following steps given by Sylark & Kezia.
Thank you so much.

Now I am re-downloading the English curriculum because I accidentally tick the checkbox for LR to set course library to default setting.
This resulted in LR having the English trial course only.
