IMPORTANT UPDATE:

Dear EEECF Supporters,

The EEECF Team would like to extend our most sincere gratitude for choosing to support our Toys for Tots Literacy fundraiser. It is people like you who are truly helping change the world!

We are writing to inform you that unfortunately, we were unable to reach our fundraising goal to complete the Toys for Tots project. Since we did not reach our designated StartSomeGood.com "tipping point" by the required deadline, all pledges have been automatically canceled. You will not be charged for your previous donation.

Although we did not reach this specific project goal, there is much more work to be done in helping underprivileged children learn to read. We implore you to resubmit your donation or to consider making a recurring monthly donation directly to www.EEECF.org. Your gift will be accepted immediately through EEECF, without a third party "tipping point" or waiting period required to complete the transaction.
As a supporter, we will keep you informed of current Foundation activities through periodic project update emails.

Once again, we deeply appreciate your choice to support literacy for those who need it most. Your financial gift means the world to a child in need!

Sincerely,
The EEECF Team

Give a child the gift of literacy for only $0.55!

You know the importance of early education for your child.

How about helping other children have that gift?

For families falling on difficult times, there is little more devastating than explaining to a child that "Santa can't make it this year."

In these situations, the Marines at the Toys for Tots Foundation heroically step in to keep the holiday magic alive by distributing millions of toys and books to children in need. At the Early Education for Every Child Foundation, we want to do our part in lifting up these children in every way possible.

We can help by giving them a solid foundation in reading in the earliest years of life.

EEECF - Toys for Tots Early Literacy Campaign

Our Foundation aims to provide 20,000 children with Little Reader early literacy kits. These software-based kits will be donated to the Toys for Tots Foundation who will distribute them to low-income families in addition to the traditional Toys for Tots gifts and books.

By contributing to the Toys for Tots project, funds may also be used to further other EEECF international literacy projects around the world, as needed.

Watch this video about our literacy initiative with Toys for Tots:

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/p3KAHnP6TYs&rel=1" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/v/p3KAHnP6TYs&rel=1</a>

Here's how YOU can help:

As a member of BrillKids, you understand the value of early learning. We implore you to take a moment and support this worthy cause so that we can spread early learning to those communities and children who need it most. Click HERE to learn more...

We have already received sponsorship (at no cost) for the Little Reader software licenses from BrillKids, but the Foundation will be responsible for covering both the cost of production for the physical discs and the cost to ship them to the Toys for Tots Foundation and abroad.

We need funding to make that happen, and for that we need YOUR help!

Every contribution, great or small, can potentially be THE donation that changes a particular child's life forever, taking them from at-risk to one step ahead. Learning to read empowers children to break the cycle of poverty through education, so join us in making a difference in the lives of the children who need it most today!

Step 1: Visit the EEECF Fundraising Campaign page hosted on StartSomeGood.com.

Step 2: Click the green "Support Now" button, choose your reward, and submit.

Step 3: Log into or create your Paypal account to finalize the transaction. Remember, your account will only be charged when we reach our "tipping point" of $5,500!

Step 4: Tell all your friends and become an Ambassador for Early Learning! Print a Pledge Log, share it on Facebook, and shout it out from the rooftops today!

SUPPORT OUR CAMPAIGN HERE

Each kit will cost just 55 cents, which includes production, shipping and all transaction fees from our Start Some Good campaign.

This means if we reach our tipping point goal of $5,500, will will be able to produce, ship, and donate 10,000 reading kits. And if we reach our total goal of $11,000, we'll be able to produce, ship, and donate a total of 20,000 software-based reading kits.

For more information on the Early Education for Every Child Foundation's programs or to sign up as a volunteer, visit the EEECF website at www.eeecf.org.

Wow, this is really neat.  The more I learn about the BrillKids company, the more I love them.  I love this charity branch, that they are willing to give this product to those who need it at production costs.  I will be donating, and I will also be blogging about it.

I remember that in one of Doman's books, he said that the EL movement, the "Gentle Revolution" was almost exclusively being done in the middle-class.  Why?  Because the very rich assume that their kids have got it made, and in truth, they usually do receive an excellent education but not as much in the early years.  On the other hand, the very poor struggle to know where their next meal is coming from, and while they do want their children to have more, early learning is not as much of a priority as their basic needs.  I've often thought about how sad that is, because an education is exactly what they need to lift these families out of their poverty.

BrillKids, this is very generous, and I am touched and inspired by this campaign for these children in need.

Tamsyn,

Thank you for your kind words!

Great idea to share the news through blogging. There are also social share buttons on the campaign page, so everyone can easily share the news with their friends on Facebook, Twitter and so on!

I did my blog post!

I was trying to think of a way I could help this charity be successful, and I have decided to give a free copy of my "Beginning Rhythm" e-book to anyone who donates $10 or more to this charity.  There are more than 300 pages of printable manipulatives.  I designed it with Glenn Doman's philosophies, as well as my toddlers in mind, although kids from all age groups have used it and enjoyed it.

So if you're sitting on the fence, here's one more reason to help this cause!

This is very close to my heart. I am a strong believer that an ability to read leads to academic success.

I was from a developing country. Academic success equals a better life, a better job. A better life equals an ability to support one's parents who grow old with no pension.

Everyone, isnt it a great incentive?

To clarify about donations -- you can pledge the amount you would like to donate by going to our Fundraising Page (http://www.eeecf.org/projects/toysfortots-donate.php ) , but you will not be charged till about 1-2 days after the end of Fundraising Campaign, so not till about a month from now.

Together we can make a real difference, cant we?

And there will be more amazing literacy opportunities ahead which you will be able to take a part in as well!

Can anybody give me the ultimate cutoff date? Alex has a birthday in Early Dec, and we always do a charity donation request instead of presents, then give books as party favours.  This would be an exceptional opportunity to tie in for us!
And even if not specifically for this fundraiser, it would still be an opportunity for future endeavors!
Any other parents ou there that ask for donations to favored charities rather than cheap plastic gifts that EL parents rarely want/need LOL

Keri,

The cutoff date for this particular Fundraiser is October 15th -- we have to have enough time to print and ship the EL kits to the distribution sites -- and 20 000 is a lot! Sorry about that  Sad

BUT what a great idea you have shared -- we will be holding another EL fundraisers after this project, stay tuned for details!

Well, we will palm on it for December anyway!

Also,I know that our University has a matching fund for what they deem ' academic interest' donations- so, in theory, if they accept the application, our employer with 'match' any donations we make!

So, PLEASE, if you think your company might have a similar matching policy, and many do, especially with something headed for Toys For Tots, investigate the possibility. I know I would happily donate a bit more if I knew that it was going to be doubled!
