I can empathize with Eric as I was born and raised in a third world country where most people only earn more or less $100 a month. With the new prices, only the rich people from third world countries can afford to pay for it.

I do not have any of the other learning systems as I had to decide which will give me the most benefit for the amount of money I will spend. Unlike Eric, I was lucky to have benefited from the bundle discount plus the mother's day discount - if it had not been for these discounts, I would not have been able to buy LR and LM.

thanks for the progress diary! Nice touch. I just downloaded my new version and I love it so far. I like the curriculum as well. Thank you for giving to the people who already had LR. If it hadn't have been for the points system I wouldn't have never bought it then but now with the curriculum I probably would have. The price is higher then some of us thought, but other programs out there are around the same price or more. Some of the others only offer their program for a couple of weeks and not for the entire year. Plus you don't have to wait for it to come in the mail and deal with a bunch of CD's either. My hubby was interested in one he saw on TV before I got LR and it was cheap at first but then to continue we had to pay around 500-900 for the whole entire reading program after the free trial.

Thanks Brill team for a great curriculum, and we can still modify it for our selves as well. Most you can not modify. You have to go by what they have.

Also my soon to be 1 year old got a quick lesson in the curriculum, and he had a smile on his face like never before. He loved the first day's lesson, and now I can record in the progress diary. He was actually interacting  with the program.

Thanks for putting the mouse and keyboard lock on there as well. yes

First of all, a big THANK to the Brillkids team for your new curriculum. Especially the facts that you warn everybody about the coming price increase, it was really fair. I also think the price is fair if you compared it with other products.

But maybe for whose who can not afford it (or don't want to teach English but French or whatever), you could sell the old version simultanously for less price and without any curriculum.

Is anywhere a summary of the "Brillkids method"? How many words is shown a day? How often is a word shown a day, for how many days until it is retired, how/when repeatat. When do you introduce couplets, after how many days and how many single words etc. In short, the information behind the curriculum. Although I aware that every mom and dad can modify that in Brillkids.

Hi Aguh!

You can see the details of the curriculum by visiting this page:
http://www.brillkids.com/teach-reading/whats-in-it.php#tab2

You'll find a lot of information about session frequency, why the lessons are made the way they are, retirements of words (rotation), and content selection.

I really like the fact that there is curriculum available, which we can use

but at the same time we can modify, add, take away and personalise

I am not aware of other program that can be that multifaceted in that aspect

Also with most learning programs, you would need to purchase a completely enw different set for another language, here, you can use the same photos, pictures, and add your own language, or get the baby interested by having moms, dads, or uncle's  smile  voice reading some of the words

I like the fact that the possibilities are limitless and that we can share the presets with each other.

to all brillkid architects... i must hand you big props for a job well done.  i can't imagine the amount of time and effort (and probably and little panic and frustration) that went into the redesign.  you have out done yourselves.  i was very glad before to have found your program but am now astounded at what it can do.  i know my current lr lover will really enjoy the new courses and it will help me focus on a little more structure (always needed!) and as for the lr lover to come... it's going to be a piece of cake!!  you've made this whole process very easy and fun for kids and parents alike.  keep up the amazing work.

hey

Its very simple to download new BK-LR.

Earlier even i was afraid to down loand new LR., but seriously its very simple to downloand the same.

Ok let me try to explain you. First open your  Account Management page.

Theirafter Just copy all your imports-exports stuffs in any particular drive of your computer and theirafter  uninstall LR 118.

After that go to your Accoutn management Page and there you can downloand  your new LR. Follow the instruction accordinly.

Trust me its really simple.

Yes one suggesiton from my side, the download process may take some time say about 20 to 25 min, so ensure that your internet is working properly.

Take care.

Okay guys,

I have emailed you twice and posted questions several times asking if I needed to buy Little Math before the upgrade along with LR and no one ever responded. Do I need LM to get the upgrade or is it included? I can't afford the new prices for LM, if I would need to buy it... I would think it a little rude that no one ever responded, if that's the case. Please advise. Thanks.

I agree with the viewers that are concerned about the price. Even with the fathers day discount, it is still very pricey. I would like to wait and see better discounts before purchasing. I mean, considering the cost of just LR alone is $300, thats a lot of money and it does'nt even include LM.

I might just end up buying Tweedlewink instead. Any thoughts about this from others who have both LM, LR and Tweedlewink. Which one is better?

hi there.

regarding the new price i think its pretty much what something like this should cost.
i bought a developmental program called practica a year ago.
it basically has games to stimulate all areas of your childs life like physical, emotional, curiosity and more. about 12 areas.

i had paid R6500 rands for this program. it comes with a toy box full of toys. it doesnt even compare to LR. divide R6500 by say 8. it works out to 800 and something dollars.
i use that product but not everyday like LR.

world books. not sure if you guys know them but they make encyclopedia sets and a set of books called child craft. the early world of learning set was like R3500 and the child craft say R4900. the encyclopedia set was R13500.

i havent seen tweedlewink but i can still say LR is a better investment towards your childs education.

Tweedlewink is a good program, but it doesn't teach much reading, nor does it have the flexibility or content that LR does.

Ok I have been searching but where do you find the extras to the little math and little reader?

Also where do I download the next weeks lessons? I only have week one for both programs.

Also where do you find the premium files that you can use your loyalty points for?
