Hello Pal social language learning app has officially launched!

Dear BrillKids friends,

You may remember I mentioned in my last message to you ("What We've Been Up To") that we started to beta test our new app, Hello Pal. I'm now thrilled to tell you that Hello Pal has now officially launched!

Hello Pal is a free app (we don't even have in-app purchases!), and is now available on Google Play, and it is also now in beta testing for iOS users.

We are thrilled that we've been getting great feedback and reviews since being launched a week ago. Here are some reviews from Google Play:

Great for learning Been wanting to learn Mandarin for my business dealings in China. Came across this app and wow, it has helped! I have already made a few Chinese friends and picked up a few phrases.

BONUS FOR LITTLE READER

Here's a bonus surprise for all Little Reader users - Little Reader will be getting all the phrases from Hello Pal as Little Reader categories before too long!

Hello Pal contains phrasebooks in different languages, and each contains around 2000 phrases, each with two voice recordings (normal speed and slow version), and we will be using them to create Word categories for Little Reader soon! We currently have phrasebooks in English, Chinese, French, and Japanese, with Spanish and Korean about to be launched soon.

Thank for app, I've already downloaded it!

Is it possible to make an option like "I'm a mother of little kid and I want to communicate with other mother (or father)"  It would be great to build up special "baby" vocabulary. "Mother's social network"

I think groups and communities where you can connect with like-minded individuals (parents, caregivers) will surely be a feature in the future for Hello Pal. Perhaps in a second phase for development for the app, but yes, definitely, we are interested in making this a feature!

Thanks Andzhela! Yep, we do intend to have group features later on.

We can also create a 'parenting' phrasebook that covers what you mentioned. Thanks for the idea!

Looking forward to see new functionality in the Hello Pal application!

May be it possible to make 'comunity' parenting phrasebook, so that native speakers could suggest translations or vote. I beleieve, every mother has her own phrases set and there are - for example - lot of translations for such simple phrase as "well done".

Is there any word yet as to when the app will be launched for iPhone? I know there is an approval process but was hoping we would hear something by now.

Hi c4andy20, we're sorry for missing your posts! 

The iPhone version of Hello Pal was actually released around the last half of December 2015. Just follow this link to download: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/hello-pal/id965758822?mt=8

We don't have the iPad version ready just yet, though.

Just wondering is we have the Ipad version already for download?

It would be nice to have one for a bigger resolution output rather than just the phone screen.

But still a good work.

Hi Just_Mark, sorry, the iPad version is not yet available.

In the meantime you can still download the iPhone version of the app in your iPad, but it will just appear zoomed-in to fit the iPad screen.

When do you guys think the phrase book will be incorporated into little reader? My kids have done the French curriculum a few times (we do it as a warm up along with little musician in the morning). They'd really enjoy expanding into the phrases.
